No tobacco since I took 6 days to wean myself off it when I first got my e-cig in Oct 08. (Hope that not a duplicate post, although I admit it's replicated a thousand times over the past year+ ) scylla

In my opinion, a cigarette appears to reduce stress because it relieves the withdrawal symptoms building up from the previous cigarette. IYSWIM ??? scylla

Reading all of your success stories - especially hearing that so many of you smoked such a larage amount prior to e-cigs - really is making me feel optimistic, and for once, very positive that I might make it this time.
Thanks so much for sharing them, and with absolute honesty. Means I will feel much happier confessing my all if I weaken and succomb to the real ciggies.

Just do not pressure yourself!!! Sometimes you may be unlucky and get substandard gear, so whatever happens please be very laid back and come and have a darn good moan if necessary. Even if you don't get a good strong vape you should be able to "feel" the possibilities. I'm always so pessimistic, that's another reason it was such a miracle that e-cigs worked for me It's amazing how many of us have taken to it like a duck to water, our Chihuahua was a prime example, not one fag from the moment she started vaping and she was CERTAIN it would NOT WORK scylla

Couldn't agree more. Hanow, good luck and do please think of this - count the cigarettes you don't smoke rather than the ones (if any) you do..... I think that's probably the best piece of advice I have seen anywhere. (And it came from this forum) I don't count myself as a non-smoker yet, because I know how addicted I was; but it's 20 weeks tomorrow since I smoked, and I'd never have got to this without the ecig.

Oooohhhhh - thank you all - big hugs heading to you all. As a 'strong' person in all other aspects of my life and life history, my main weakness has been my total inability to beat the smoking monster. When I met my ex - we both smoked. However, on one of the occasions that we decided to give up - he did - just went cold turkey. I didn't get through 24-hours. Felt such a failure. But the fact that he managed it gave me hope - hope completely dashed when 3 years later he succombed again. That flattened any optimism or resolve I had. I have paid out for pills, acupuncture, hypnotism etc. Thus, am so wanting this to help me. So please keep battering me with your successes - and thanks too for the lovely notes you have written, indicating that it is okay to allow for any lapses.

Hanow I'm with u too hun, we're both vaping virgins LOL. I've smoked heavily for the last 31 years so it's a miracle I've only had 1 rolly in the last 24 hours. I figure that's about 25 rollies I've not had! x
