Neighbours!...

What with these balmy Summer evenings, and we've all got our doors and windows open... and then...

The one across the road is prancing around in nothing but shorts, on his mobile speaking as loud as he can... no, not a mega millions deal, just his next courier job. Then 10 mins later he starts up his Harley Davidson for a spin in the country, having scared the sh*t out me by doing so. Now another is mowing his grass with a Formula 1 engine in his mower.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very lucky with my neighbours but there are times... especially on Summer evenings like this!

i live in the country but do live in a street it used to be quiet but lately it can be really quiet all day but at night with windows open, people mowing the lawn, revving car engines, motorbikes, kids screaming, parents shouting at kids, it's driving me crazy, what happened to my quiet street.

Lest we forget the neighbours that don't know how to light a barbecue properly and don't mind that they fill your whole house (and neighbourhood) with the foul stench of BBQ lighting fluid and smoke when you have all your windows and back door open along with fresh washing on the line

This is my first summer in our new house and yeah folks mow their lawn after work, shout at their kids who have been off school for 3 weeks already here. Barbecues lit for tea with god only knows what to get them started and don't get me started about the big boys with their motorcycle toys that never seem to leave the driveway but get revved up and cleaned to within an inch of their life!

I have had the displeasure to live next door to proper antisocial neighbours, this current set up feels like bliss to me and nobody can complain about my dogs barking etc

but not while i'm watching my soaps at 7.00 they don't have to mow the lawn lol, 
why can't they do it at weekends or on they day off, if they work weekends, doesn't have to be in the evening, 
we don't mow the lawn in the evening my hubby does it on his day off,  

I just like the quiet life i'm used to

Got a neighbour who's son is a pothead. You can imagine how pi**ed, sorry, displeased I get when he does smokes this in the common hallway we share and exposes my kids to it.

Gonna tell the parents tomorrow if I sniff even a hint of that crap 'll be calling landlord and police.  Normally I wouldn't mind but they don' care that there are kids here.

They cannot do it at weekends, because thats the time to go to Asda, along with the other millions of people, don't they realise supermarkets are open 24/7 and are very quiet during the week !!!!!!!

Know how you all feel. I live in a very quiet neighbourhood with very nice neighbours however, not 6ft from the end of our back gardens, they have built a new mini estate (28 houses).
I can hear all the conversations going on in their gardens, screaming and swearing at the kids, loud rap/reggae music late at night.
Gone are the summer days we could sit and have a nice meal/drink in perfect peace, impossible to read a book.
But hey, the bonus, children laughing and squealing in the paddle pool, who cannot enjoy that, no-one in the street has children, it is like a breath of fresh air to the area...children laughing...delightful.!

we all make noise at times
be it a stupidly loud car stereo with them woofer thingies (guilty)
a loud hifi(guilty)
soft air gun(guilty)
and the worst thing for noise a 12 year old(defo guilty)
the thing is having the good manners to use said toys at the right time and at the right place
the car stereo only gets turned up on the mway or out in the middle of nowhere when im setting it up
the loud hifi gets used when the neighbors are out
the toy gun gets used till 730 pm
they know if they want me to stop to just knock and ask the same as i do for them
this is in a town in a row of houses

NOW THEN
when i lived in a 2 street village it was a joke people complained about everything yet when they spent 2 years building a car in there garage or 3 month getting a xstention built or blar blar blar it was ok

am i a noisy git at times but arnt we all i just try and do it with good manners
