I appear to have touched on a rather contentious issue I think I shall hold off on going for a mod for a bit (not too long though) just so I can learn more about them and get a little more equipment, I'm thinking a VTR for now, although I got a little confused about the whole VTR thing when I couldn't work out where the vector came into it, then was told it was just a name picked at random from a competition, I thought it might have something to do with maths vectors and couldn't work out why (yes, I can be too spoddy for my own good). I can be a little too good at jumping into something far too quick for my own good and I've had far too many electric shocks and things blow up on me (thankfully only at work), so I should have learned my lesson by now Would it be worth it, when I get one, to run it through a scope and diagnostic software so I can get a better idea of tolerances and whatnot, or is that just going a step too far? Lol. Get one bud, just get it, an rba (rebuildable atomiser), wire (A1 kanthal) and a couple of sony vtc4's, safe as anything and great fun for the inquiring mind. You really WONT get an electric shock either, I'm also a fan of jumping right in and it's served me fairly well over the years. Sure things don't always go spot on but that's life. I'd rather be in the middle trying it than on the outside thinking about it. Vape on!

The thing to remember about mech mods is your coil resistance. That`s how you adjust the power of one really. Put a 2.5 ohm on it and it will be kind of "yeh, so what?" but put a 1ohm coil on it and you have increased the power output a lot by increasing the current through the coil. Flavour and vapour production will be much better if your wicking is up to scratch A 1 ohm coil with 4volts applied to it will give you 16 watts. A 2.5ohm coil with 4volts applied to it will only give you 6.4 watts and will seem pretty tame

OK, so I'm going to prove how much of a flip flopper I am and go for it, I'm still trying to decide what to go for though, is it best to get a kit to start with? Also are Tesla any good?

My experience with kits is that there is always something in them that you either dont really want ..lol.. or one or more of the components are crap, a friend of mine used to have a model shop and make up kits, he used to put bits in the kit that he had trouble selling in his shop and get them sold that way..... make of that what you will....lol.... if it were me, i would buy things seperate, unless there is a kit out there where everything in it is good quality or has everything you want, which i doubt..... which mech to get is up to you, find one you like and ask about on here.. each to their own but i prefer telescopic mods, specially if you are switching battery sizes a lot and using a kick... its personal preference tho.....

Buying separate may cost more, but you'll have your own choice of charger(2 or 4 channel, fits various size batteries etc) and more importantly batteries. You'll be able to get your own IMR batteries with a capacity to suit you. Another important consideration is that if you decide to order from abroad, then shipping batteries may cause issues. Not all customs officials apply the rules correctly and may or may not delay or reject the package.
IMO, best bet is to buy separate and pick and choose the best charger, batteries mod and atty from whoever offers the best gear at the best price.
Whatever mod you choose is up to your aesthetic choice, budget and preference of size. Whichever you go for, check reviews and pay close attention to comments about switches, threads and this kind of small detail.

Ive only had experience of one Tesla mod and that was the M5. Its sitting in a draw and I never use it (piece of rubbish) I would offer it to you for free but I think it would put you off mechs.
