got a ZNA 50 & hana DNA 50 on order and at the moment i use a kick in my nemisis etc. set at 15watts, these seem to get hot with the Red efest, think I need some new batteries. Need some 18500,s for the ZNA anyway as I don't have any. ill be getting them from torchy and have been happy with the efests thus far so looking at the purples Here is my basket so far; all look OK? And good enough for when I'm confident enough to take my kick out? Thank you.

Those 18650s are not 20A cells, they are 6A cells and are probably not suited to vaping in a device capable of 50W. The 30A (VTC4 rewrap) or 35A (Which are actually 20A cells) ones would be OK though.

As eluded to by b1mble ^^^^^^ Edit; and robby, there is a lot of controversy about some Efest batteries, they seemingly use cells from other manufacturers, rebrand them, and then over-rate the specifications as a ploy for better sales of their batteries. Because of that I personally avoid Purple Efests and prefer to choose batteries from Sony, Samsung, LG, AW etc. I'm not an expert, it's just my choice.

10 amp is okay, both batteries living up to capacity claims The performance of the Purple Efest V Sony at 20 Amps is pretty poor, useful capacity has dropped dramatically.

I was suspicious of them first mainly because of their capacity. Very rare, if not unheard of to get that capacity from a 20 amp battery. It stacks up fine at 10 amps but try and suck much more out of the battery and it gets a bit scary

Might have done the wrong thing here, but I've just ordered a pair of Samsung 18650 30A 2200mah - any good for use in a mech mod firing at around 1ohm, or slightly less? Certainly don't envisage me going down to .5ohm or anything silly, as I'm using Kayfuns and Taifuns at the moment.
ETA: Should add that they were £12 from Torchy via UKV and Paypal

ETA: Should add that they were £12 from Torchy via UKV and Paypal I may well be wrong here, but I'm fairly sure that Samsung don't produce a 30amp 18650 fella. Top of the tree is the inr25r which is 2500mah, 25amp continous (up to 100amp pulse). They then do the inr20r which is 2000mah, 20amp continous (not sure of pulse) I've looked at Jim's listing on UKV and can't see a 2200mah 30amp cell. Anyway, 4.2v @ 1? will only draw 4.2amps so you'll be fine regardless. Even if you go to 0.7? (lowest recommended for kayfun to avoid damaging the insulators) you'll only be using 6amps.

I haven't got a number or ref, as I copied the details from the list Torchy has on his UKV thread. Even if they're only 20A would they be sufficient within the parameters mentioned above?

I love Samsung batteries, but I hate the way they name them. There is one that has 30A as part of the battery model name. I ordered a couple from FT once thinking that they were 30 Amp batteries, only to find that they were 6 amp (I think) It wasn`t deliberate, just a language thing, but so easy to take it as being a 30 Amp battery. They were actually 6 Amp batteries.
"Samsung ICR18650-30A 18650" looked like a 30 Amp to me but the 30A actually relates to the capacity, in this case 3000mah.

You get a better vape if you leave a lot of head room.

Just a thought as these questions get asked over and over and it's a really important question for mech users. Maybe our battery gurus robby or/and VapingBad would consider a short precise list of batteries suitable for the above which we could then get stickies in the appropriate board
