Just a thought as these questions get asked over and over and it's a really important question for mech users. Maybe our battery gurus robby or/and VapingBad would consider a short precise list of batteries suitable for the above which we could then get stickies in the appropriate board I'm not a guru, but the main prob with that is keeping upto date for example VTCs are great high drain batteries, but you can't get them at the moment, I have seen a thread elsewhere this weekend from someone who just bought some new ones from a very large vendor that maybe fakes, I think he is sending them to torchy for testing. Also I hear lots of good things about the Samsung High drains, but have not used them. Dan's advise was good as well.

Maybe not but your pretty clued up on batteries and sometimes flattery works just thinking it would be helpful to have a list especially for those new to mechs. Not to worry as its looks like Dan is thinking of putting something together, maybe he is a guru

I just don't want someone to hurt themselves from being given bad information. It's all well and good creating a thread of what cells are good. Problem being it'll be out of date next week.. You won't go wrong with the Samsung 25r or the LG HE2 if you stay within their limits. You do need to understand ohms law though.

got a ZNA 50 & hana DNA 50 on order and at the moment i use a kick in my nemisis etc. set at 15watts, these seem to get hot with the Red efest, think I need some new batteries. Need some 18500,s for the ZNA anyway as I don't have any. ill be getting them from torchy and have been happy with the efests thus far so looking at the purples Here is my basket so far; all look OK? And good enough for when I'm confident enough to take my kick out? Thank you. Main bit of advice from me @letsavit is to get off the Ebay page and email Torchy direct via this linkIt'll save you at least 10% Torchy's email address

Those 3100 mAh should not be used for high current set ups, it's always a trade off between high current and high capacity so be suspicious if you see a battery claiming both. IMR 18650 3100 mAh EFEST 20A Warning, these batteries are dangerous!17 page thread about this on ECF

Thanks to VapingBad Dan and robby for their answers, I feel relieved that it's not a duff purchase! I think that VB's idea of a list of suitable batteries would be an excellent idea. I wonder if we should have some of guidance for new users of these batteries too? Perhaps it could be made a Sticky, and displayed somewhere prominent where all forum members can find it? ETA: I really must remember to refresh threads before I post - apologies but all my points above have been covered logically and sensibly already

I am a bit surprised at Torchy selling these 18650 to be honest. The performance drops off rapidly above 10 amps. Don't forget he not only sells to the Vaping community, but also to High Power Torch & remote control users etc., I believe if you ask him he will suggest which is the best. I do think it is about time he looked at his listings and put them into some sort of order so that newbies knew what to ask for, in light of new higher wattage mods coming on the scene, especially now that Sonys seem to be in short supply and the next best thing is the Sammy 25R for sub-ohmers who might exceed 10A continuous.

They aren`t 20 amp batteries though Bob no matter what you use them for. My surprise was due to the fact I didn`t expect it from him.

Just a cautionary note I have now read on 2 other forums about the Sony VTC5s that UkECigStore have may be fakes, I'm not saying they are, but I would wait for confirmation one way or the other before getting these.

Totally agree, they are 20A Pulse not Continuous and that is the fault of Efest for claiming they are 20A, and yes, Torchy should not be advertising them as such. It is things like this that needs sorting out and maybe being controlled (not that I like any controls) to stop anyone injuring themselves. If these batteries were tested before being allowed to go on sale, and those that fail being sent back to China (which is where the majority come from) then perhaps the companies would start producing decent quality batteries, and to that point, why are we not making batteries here or in the EU, too costly - too dangerous??

Thanks guys, loads of replies and some more reading to do... I'll have updated my basket, changed the 18650,s and will contact torchy directly. Quote from torchy regarding the changed 18650,s "High drain Efest 18650 batteries. The 35A rating is a bit exaggerated, I found they were ok up to 30A continuous."
