Is the mech mod dead?

Some people can taste the difference between 10 watts from DC and 10 watts from PWM. Personally, I cant. There are currently a lot of inexpensive devices which can give you 1V to 10V flat DC. A recent DNA50 from Focal did that and for only about £35. I tested it on the scope and it was a flat voltage for the whole range. I had the same result from a ZNA50 which was cheaper than most other ZNA30s and ZNA50s out there. A lot of sellers literally have no idea what they are putting out as regards flatDC/PWM. Many dont even know the minimum/maximum voltage of the mods they are selling.

I love the mechs I own and I love the Smart-20 I bought recently. No, the mech is certainly not dead.

You two forgot something - tis not 'the apocalypse' - tis the zombie apocalypse as the apocalypse is a dodgy theological term to do with theology from the 19th century. Where is this crisis will be orchestrated and performed by zombies. If they were rational it wouldn't even be happening. They are not 'psychotic' in the traditional sense of the word and to use the term psychopathic will get folk done for libel. However just remember 'zombie (and the resonance of saying zombie apocalypse)

Is the mech mod dead no it isn't the individuality and simplicity of the mech mod will endure for sometime to come. Is the need for the mech mod dead yes it is with the advances in regulated mods in the last couple of years no one needs a mech mod to get the satisfaction from vaping all the power in the world is there for everyone sometimes too much power. I see mech mods becoming the artisan area of vaping in years to come but the days of the silly prices may also die soon as the price some charge for them has been taking the mickey for a while. There is plenty of room in vaping for both mech and regulated and barring a draconian government intervention into vaping both will be around for a very longtime.

Regardless of the outcome of the poll, my mechanical mod will outlive your error prone fragile electrical gimcrackery.

In truth I can't be trusted with anything with micro-circuitry – I'll only drop it or accidentally put it in the washing machine with my laundry. Not even an ego is safe in my hands. Therefore I am forced to use fool-proof indestructible mechanical mods that are gorgeous to look at and a delight to use – oh, poor me!

Mechs definitely aren't dead in my house. I'm running all mechs, apart from the trusty, ancient but now rarely used V2 Vamo. Having said that, I expect I'm about done with buying them, and this year I'll be getting a regulated box - buying or building, or most likely both.

mechs have more of a personality and soul, most regulated devices feel cold and heartless to me . unless its a very high end one like a axiz or gepetto zero warapri slug and a few others.
