Did anyone watch it? What a bunch of clueless owners! Thankfully they seemed to be getting to grips with (some) things by the end of the 2nd episode, although why these dogs weren't on leads in public when they had no recall is beyond me.. I felt particularly sorry for the poodle x beagle, his owner was just horrible. I've been having some behaviour issues with my 10 month old Cairn recently, this show made me feel like a fabulous well competent dog owner

Haven't watched but have listened to lots of friends ranting about it. Using a pet corrector spray on a puppy was one thing that got everyone steaming! Going to avoid for the sake of my blood pressure! X

I can't watch stuff like that, it gets my hackles up. Some people shouldn't have animals, never mind kids.

like kids, you need to be firm and have set boundaries... which I had for dog (and kids) until man spoilt them all!
I have threatened to put an anti bark collar on our 7yr old norfolk terrier who likes to bark at random people who pass by our door -- at 4am in the morning... between him, my kids and snoring other half I haven't had a full nights sleep all year! (2015)

My son talks so much, I threatened HIM with an anti bark collar . All mine are trained with positive methods, from the smallest to the biggest. Last dog who arrived here wore a prong collar, I had an absolute fit.

Caught up with both programmes on Iplayer today Karma . . . my polite thoughts are, it's no small wonder shelters & rescue centres have animals with so many issues, if that's an indication of some of their owners. To get a dog so your child can experience bereavement & grief at it's loss left me gobsmacked, as did the family with the Weimaraner X . . . who managed to successfully unhousetrain it FGS.

Watched them both last night, some really dim people and like Perpetua says, getting a dog so children can experience bereavement, I would hope the kids would be in their mid 20’s before the dog passed away, heartless cow she was. The offlead with no recall does my nut in having a current and previous dog with “reactive” issues, a dog running in to their faces always puts training back hugely

I was quite amazed at what they were doing, and I know nothing about dogs. Only caught the first episode though. Pepperty may I suggest trying out some ear plugs if you are really in need of getting sleep without being bothered by noise. I work odd hours and spend a lot of time in hotels - ear plugs for sleeping are essential to me and transformed my life (I also use expensive silicone moulded flat response musicians ones for work - very different beasts). I got a selection pack from somewhere that allowed me to find the most comfy ones (everyones ears are different). Then I buy them by the box of 200 pairs now that lasts me over a year for about £30 or so. These guys link do decent selection packs, best to get the biggest selection that has 5 or 10 of each pair so you can really test them out. Also you need to insert them properly - twist and squish them and poke them in while pulling on the flappy part of the ear, then allow them to expand in your ear canal - it takes a knack, but worth it

Mine lie a lot: I did not steal that sandwich! I did not eat the loo roll, it was one of the cats! I did not play with that piece of coal, it jumped on me and I defended myself! and the most used lie: I did not eat your remote control, it jumped in my mouth!

As for barking, my pup has now decided that he should bark at things that fall from the sky. This is no fun with the amount of rain we get in Scotland. I switched off our garden light thinking that this would help as he wouldn't be able to see the rain so well and because that was his favourite barking spot. He now barks at the light being off while running backwards and forwards to the door barking as if to say, 'Mum, fix the light' I am very popular with the neighbours at the moment, not!

a1laserboy Thanks for good advice, I wish I could but I have ear problems (mastoid issues) I cant put anything in my ears - not even audio earbuds I bite my tongue Karma Our poor dog is a rolypoly clinically overweight dog now and I've told him over and over that he's killing him with kindness and drastically foreshortening his life. Not a good way to show your pet love is it? he's just wont listen. I'm going to have a hard time not exclaiming 'I told you so' when the poor fella doesnt reach expected age for breed and no I wouldnt as its cruel but....
