Dual coil atty? good idea though. If you ever want to force a micro coil to short heat it while squeezing with ceramic tip tweezers, thin wire will short easier. Repeated pulsing normally oxidises it enough to stop the shorting, but just strumming it is easier. Strumming? What you do to a guitar, not my word picked it up from a yank in a video, but it describes it well.

Do a test, make a coil and pinch half of it....look at the cotton after a few tanks. Dual coil atty? good idea though. Repeated pulsing normally oxidises it enough to stop the shorting, but just strumming it is easier. Dual or single, what do you think will confuse the chip the least and give a reasonable result with reagrds to the temp control working the best on the different type coils?...ie the least scorches to the cotton? I have done it on a single, the cotton was only marked on the pinched/contact side of the coil, so I have stay spaced.......also have noticed on my kraken it doesn't like different size coil legs too.

Em, your just trying to get me to post something you can call confusing, cause it would be, I'll try. Dual: the temp seen but the chip would be the average of both so you need to build more carefully to get them balanced. I just suggested dual to compare micro vs spaced like you suggested but assumed kanthal, my bad. So single will confuse the chip user less. With scorching it could be a poor build or wicking that caused it making it not very conclusive, I have suggested that you could compare scorch marks with dry cotton to see if roughly how close the temp on the screen is to true. Also long legs will not help as they will get hotter not being next to the juice, I put ss washers on the top connection on Krakens to bridge the gap a little and reduce the length of the top leg. I confused myself there.

Have 3 DNAs running and the clone and will hopefully find time the weekend to have a play....want to start my build too though....thanks mate...

No you don't get a perfect short across the whole coil, but you can see the wraps that short are a lot darker when hot. TBH I have not looked at the R as they are hot so would be different and just want to get it sorted. I had a twisted 0.17 kanthal one go so that one strand was orange and the other was only orange half way along the coil, should have taken a photo.

Yeah, I suspect few people get more than one shorted coil unless they are really trying. If you heat up the coil to an orange glow before pinching then the chances are virtually non-existent.

For you guys who bought it from 3Fvape how was it shipped? as in with SingPost or China Airmail? Also what's the outcome of this VF temp clone, is it any good? Mine was shipped via China EMS/ePacket, but I'm back in the US now.

I was surprised how quick 3Fvape were in sending another I had ordered, 7 days from ordering and landing on my door step, and this was sent by China post, I don't know what FT do, but there always seems to be days before any tracking shows for orders from them, yet with 3fvape the very next day the parcel had departed for GB

I ordered in Friday from 3fvape, Sat - dispatch, today landed in UK. Expect it tomorrow on my door. This is a Epacket from China post. If I consider the prices from 3F and speedy delivery - FT may loose my business quickly.
