For those people looking in who are in between on deciding whether to try an ecig or not my advice is go for it. I have not smoked a ciggie now for 5 days. I hear you say: 5 days thats nothing lol. Well it is for me as I have never in 50 years smoking stopped for more than 1 day without tearing my hair out. I can honestly say that I enjoy vaping and have no desire for an analogue. This forum is a boon to all you guys who want to continue smoking the healthy alternative way or even want to try stopping. Personally, I loved smoking and vaping now gives me the same satisfaction. I enjoy my nicotine kick but the difference is that I can now have it safetly. This is a fantastic support forum with really friendly people who seem to go out of their way to help. So if you are not a member, join up now and log in. These are just my thoughts on the matter at the end of day 5. Ken.

Ken, that is a lovely post, thank you.
I am genuinely so pleased you are happy with vaping - I was totally gobsmacked at what a fantastic substitute it was for smoking when I first started, so I know where you are coming from.
Now just watch you health and wealth improve and spread the word.
Happy vaping x

Either we have been there and know the wonderful feeling from experience, or we yearn to get there and be able to say what you have said. Well done, Ken, and I second Jaki's compliment scylla

Even when it's not a 100% substitute for some peeps they can be encouraged to continue vaping. As Scylla always says JUST COUNT THE ONES YOU DON'T SMOKE!! SOOO glad it's worked so well for you It's not nothing - it's a great big SOMETHING

I was buzzing after doing just one day It's amazing how easy it is to just take the leap over to ecigs once you've tried them. xxx

Ken, I agree with everybody!
But it's a revelation, isn't it? How the transistion is painless and how much like "real" smoking it is.
And everyone one of us having the same thought process - "nah....nothing will EVER stop me smoking. I don't want to stop smoking. I love smoking. I'm addicted. I have no will power. It's one of them new-fangled things that doesn't/won't work on me!"

Yes Kath, what you have said here was exactly how I felt. The amazing thing is that I have absolutely no desire for an analogue now. [glow=red,2,300]ECIGS: A GIFT FROM THE GODS.[/glow] Ken. PS: thanks to all for the replies.

Ken, like you I started ecigs just a few days ago and I agree with everything you said. I decided not to put any pressure on myself, kept old and new side by side planning to introduce ecigs gradually. I would have been happy if ecigs just helped me to cut down a little on the others. To my surprise I found I was reaching for the ecig more often and enjoying it more. My only problem is that there's no natural end to an ecig and I sometimes puff away for ages without noticing. I think I need to set a timer! I would never have got going without the help and advice from everyone here. In fact I've got another question now and I'm just about to start a new thread!

Inn, I am really pleased that you have adapted so well to your ecig. With regard to puffing more because its enjoyable, well I think thats a good complaint lol. I suppose I would be guilty of puffing a bit more to or maybe it just feels that way as it does not burn down like a cigarette so there is no rush. I find vaping a more relaxing un rushed experience whereas with cigarettes I found myself rushing to get as many puffs as I could before it burned away which of course was self defeating. Ken.

YES, YES, YES, Everything you have all said is absolutely spot on ! Ken, Very many congrats. on your five days tobacco-free..... It's certainly not nothing; for a lifelong smoker, it is an achievement only dreamed of for so many of us before the advent of ecigs and, as everyone here has already said, we have all been or want to be where you are now. To go five days without a cigarette is something we never, ever thought possible (indeed, we couldn't go a couple of hours without). I am one of those who never thought I'd stop smoking; tried several times over the years and never managed more than a few hours. I heard about the ecig and reckoned if I couldn't quit smoking, then I should try it as an alternative and then at least I'd not be ingesting all that tar. Well, that was 24 weeks ago tomorrow, and, so far, I've not had a single puff of a cigarette since..... As it turned out, I've managed to stop smoking and now I've stopped using the ecig too; not to say that I'll never use my ecig again, but, if I ever have cravings for a smoke, I'll pick up my ecig instead. I honestly don't think I'll ever go back to smoking.... And I was a smoker for over 40 years.... This has been so successful for me, and I just can't believe that they're not advertised and promoted everywhere. So, from me too, a huge thank you to all on here as I would never have done it without the ecig and this forum.
