Hi All,
I know I haven't been around much, and haven't posted for ages...but other things got in the way!
Alex finally asked me to marry him, and said the sooner the better!
We originally decided on 6th January, and booked a cruise to start on the 7th. Not as extravagent as it sounds, we got a deal and were owed some days holiday from last year which we had to take, and needed a holiday at the end of a busy season. We had always fancied a cruise somewhere and the opportunity arose. We really enjoyed it.
We only wanted a small affair, no fuss, but then discovered some couldn't make it on the 6th January.....so changed the wedding day to 20th January, as we had already paid for the holiday. Hence we had our "honeymoon" before the wedding! But after living together for over 10 years, I guess it didn't really matter??!!
Here's a few pics of the big day.
Love to all Kath -x-

I have not been around on here for a couple of days, mostly because I've been reading (and fighting for) the eBay techie board to stay after the announcement it would be amalgamated into Selling Tools discussion group. As I know some of you frequent the board when you have problems or to help (mostly Scylla!) I thought I would let you all know that James (eBay Pink) has made the following announcement today - Morning I'm happy to come back and let you know that we're going to migrate the HTML and Tech Issues Board to the new platform, under Selling On eBay. It's location is non negotiable at this point as this was the trade off needed to keep the board, as we don't have another suitable place to keep it. Regards, James Celebrations! Hmmm...hi all, I've thought about posting this, and not posting this...obviously I have.
Just had a phone call from one of my sisters. (I have four sisters, I'm the eldest. The eldest 3 smoke, the other 2 don't.) My next sister down in age from me, took ill on the bus home from work today. Her work colleagues called an ambulance and seems she had a heart attack, or two. They rushed her to Leeds General Infirmary and had to shock her a few times. They obviously did an angiogram as she now has a stent due to one artery being nearly totally blocked. She's apparently OK now, although I've not spoken to her.
She's 57 and a smoker for as long as I've been, but not as many per day - about 20. I had sent her all the gumph about e-cigs and spoken to her on the phone about how I was getting on with it. She had delayed buying one until I could show her in September, when I will be going back to my home county of Yorkshire, as her eldest daughter is getting married then.
She's apparently told the youngest daughter that she is never going to smoke again. But just in case she feels different when she's recovered, I'll obviously still do the demonstration.
Some of you already know that I had a heart attack back in 2002, and been ok since. I did not need a stent. But like my sister, I said I wouldn't smoke again and did indeed not have one for a week while in hospital, but did as soon as I got out!
I didn't know whether to tell you all. But just because we are like a little "family" on here, and lots of us have had health problems of one sort or another, I thought you'd like to know.
The middle sister came to stay a few weeks ago, and on my advice she had bought a Riva (before the TECC sale) but wasn't getting on with it and having trouble knowing how to faff with her own juice etc. When she came to stay, I gave her my Tornado ready filled cartridges and she liked those so much more. She's not as willing to experiment and faff around as I am. I suspect the juice she had ordered was too strong as she didn't smoke as strong a cig or as many as me. I wonder if the other sisters heart attack will give her more incentive to try with the e-cig more?
I'll keep you all posted on the outcomes of them both.

Isn't there any way to freeze one side and heat up the other? Ice cube in a plastic bag fastened on with tape? Something metal heated over a flame and then applied to the other bit? Just thinking what I would try.

Chrissie,
I was just going to say exactly the same....it's always baffled me why anyone would A) want that many, B) Spend that much.
Surely part of the aim of e-cigs is to SAVE money? And when you all smoked analogues, did you swap and change your brand that much?
I can see both sides though - I suppose you would change brand if some were cheaper?
I suppose it's like the fruit flavours, I've never wanted to try them, I LIKE the taste of tobacco juice, makes me feel that I'm smoking the real thing. Whereas if you have fruit (or other flavours) it convinces you more that you have really given up?

Thanks for all your good wishes!
But Jaki, that is not my desk - it's Alex's and a pity you can't see the right hand side of it behind my chair on the right. It's a mess! Full of screws, washers, man bits etc. Mine is the desk on the right, will take more pics later, but it IS very tidy. Alex has an iMac, I have a PC.
Ordering Inidian take away for tonight, but goodness knows where we will eat it! No tables in sight! Dish out in the kitchen, move our keyboards and eat on our desks, I guess.
And I most definitely have to find the TV, for Corrie tonight, just hoping the cables are long enough to reach into the office/dining room somewhere as the lounge is out of bounds and has de-humidifiers running.
It's our day off tomorrow (work six days a week in peak season) so will be going out while they get on with it. I don't think it will take that long, they are hard working lads and we have used them before for other building work on the park.
Life is fun!

Yes, the builders are very OK! The one with the long hair and beard, especially. It's a pity the one with the grey hair and maroon top is my OH!

Hi Stan,
Welcome to the forum and good luck!
As a relative newbie, but the owner of a Tornado (and Riva, which is very similar) hopefully I'll be able to help a little.
First of all, there is no need to use a new cartridge every day. Just keep the same one, and top up with the juice you bought. I haven't used the pre-filled that came with the Tornado, I used one I already had. So what you might try is taking one of the "none" ones, take out the filling, wash it, dry it on some kitchen paper and then fill the cart yourself. Drip 5 or 6 drops in the cart, put the filling back in (straightened out paper clip is good or toothpick) then drip 2 or 3 drops in on top. You need to see it just glistening. If you can see a pool, tip it upside down and touch some kitchen roll with it, then put it back in your atomiser. The filling needs to be about 1/16th and inch from the top of the cart. Push any little strands down with your paperclip.
Now try again, and see what happens.
I have used the same cart and the same filling for the last 3 weeks. Admittedly I use a bit of blue filler I got, and Low Resistance atomisers as I need the bigger "hit and oomph" but the principle is the same.
The filler initially needs to be quite soaked, I think the plastic taste is because it's not wet enough.
Let us know how you get on.

Aww...blushes with delight...why thank you kind ladies. It's just I remember how it was with me when I first got mine, and no-one to ask at the time what to do as I was away for a week from the day it arrived. I soon figured out the basics though as we were in non-smoking accommodation! I didn't want Irene to give up before she'd started properly. I think us "newbies" panic a bit when it all arrives, it looks a bit daunting. The basic thing is to "stick it all together, then in your mouth and give it a go". Luckily I had the Riva, so HAD to buy juice to start. Otherwise I would have been disapointed ifI'd picked a Low or None cartidge first off! But it's much better to learn "on the job" as it were and pop in here in case of problems. Kath -x-
