The more this saga continues makes me concerned about my order, but I'mm still hanging with a very thin thread to see if this can be sorted. As long as they don't use the next batch as guinea pigs, with a piece of crap.

Just tried the update and seems to work much better. cured the ramp up time and is holding temp not shutting off when temp is reached.the only problem is its not remembering the resistance of the coil. if you don't chain vape its fine. but then it should be easy to fix with the software.

Is it keeping it to the temp set? Even with a dry wick?

its fine if you let the coil cool down between vapes. but should be easy to fix with another software upgrade. they are learning lol

Has it suddenly changed characteristics then, is it now a TC device with v0005  I like SMOK's little statement about the forum posts across the world, I think they mean (as long as we push as many of these devices out to unassuming customers who cares if it has TC or Not but we will advertise it as one) I am cynical though sorry

Just found this thread, to send out a device that's main feature does not work is simply unbelievable! I hope the folk that bought them for TC get their money back, and vendors really need to either pull them from sale, or sell it as a normal VW device.

As many in this thread are aware, i have been quite cynical about this devices TC ability and i have just come off nights and first thing i did was to update this device to v0005 and it is much much better now and is regulating once it reaches it's set temp (it does not cut off now) the main difference as of now over and above the main TC chip from evolve is that it does not recognise they type of coil attached eg: kanthal or ni200. i will review it and many people will have the better ability and knowledge of how TC is supposed to work but for me at present it is working ok but obviously not as a dna40 does, so i will leave it open for others to decide if the device and it's TC works for you, thanks to everyone in this thread for their input, cheers guys

The one I had went back for refund, I`ve seen a couple of reports on the SMOK FB page that it has killed their mod (wont recognise any atty), jury`s still out. Other reports that it doesn`t remember it`s initial coil ohm setting and just gets hotter and hotter, unless you leave it to cool down after each vape, so not good either.



EDIT ................................ I am still suspicious that it isn`t monitoring the coil at all, maybe monitoring something on the board and using that as temp control. Mainly suspicious of that as it is still supposed to be capable of regulating nickel and kanthal. That may sound crazy, but with everything that has gone before, it isn`t much of a leap in thinking .................................. but see disclaimer below
