Ash myepack has now removed the SMOK M80 Plus from his website, i would say that he has cancelled the order he had in for the rest due to the ongoing saga, well done Ash on your decision. I say this because i believe SMOK used the vaping community as guinea pigs for their device that was and still is advertised as a TC device and it clearly was not from the outset, so shame on SMOK for that.

Did the upgrade work? Judge for yourself. Go to 14 mins for the quick result of the update.

That certainly seems to what they have done robby. Such a shame as it looks from the outside like a well made unit. Maybe they just need to rip out the TC part and make it a decent vv/vw mod. Even at the price they started out, and compete with the likes of the eLeaf 50w istick.

I have just purchased another M80 in the Grey colour (nice) from Ash myepack as i love the price for what you get. SMOK have made a couple of changes, the spring loaded pin is not slotted anymore this was to avoid customers trying to adjust it, on the previous version customers were trying to adjust it and breaking the soldered connection inside, also this device has 00006 firmware, i only thought they released 00005, i am yet to fire it up but i will try to report any changes from my other M80 which has 00005 firmware, cheers All Update: SMOK don't want customers opening this one up as now they do not supply a spare (rubber) fire button in the package

New firmware updates from SMOK for the M80, my device is now @ V0006-1 Important that you read before performing the update as you have to be aware of what version is currently on your device, as performing the update with the wrong version will disable the + button from working www.smoktech.com/ArticleDetail.aspx?ArticleID=10022

TC working correctly yet? I am sure it is never going to be on the same wavelength as a dna40 but it does regulate itself around the set temp, it is doing it by automatically altering the wattage, it is a strange device but for the money it does a decent job. i have been using it in temp mode with a subtank mini and Kanger's 0.15 ni200 coils and it has been working well

I bought the m80 plus today , cheap and very high watts , so useful for my experimental coil builds .
Just scrolled down to the TC menu , read all the threads regarding its 'TC' function and thought who cares it's cheap has good battery life and will fire my low ohm builds .
Does anyone else think that TC Control is just a gimmic ? I mean when I'm dripping you can usually tell when the wicks drying out , so top off and rejuice = job done.

Tc isn`t a gimmic, it`s a very useful feature for taste control and more important than that it can cut the chances of dry hits to virtually zero. If there are any dangers associated with vaping, it`s the nasties that can be produced when the coil is overheating and burning as opposed to simply producing liquid vapour. The M80plus never worked from day one and to me looked like a cynical attempt to get on the TC bandwagon when it was in its infancy. Many vendors dont even put TC in the M80 listings that they have. SMOK have redeemed themselves with the Xcube 2 which is a great bit of kit which works extremely well
