So I started vaping in ernest about 6 months ago, ie using decent gear rather than Egos or cigalikes. I still smoked whenever I had a drink because I found it difficult to break that link between alcohol and tobacco. I had my last death stick on Christmas Day in the Philippines when someone gave me one at a party and I smoked it thinking "this is disgusting, why am I doing it?"
i've tried loads of different combinations of tanks and regulated mods and have finally settled on the ones that do it for me which is NV Midi Pros, Aerotank Megas and 20 watt Isticks, an Athena Smart 30 and a Sigelei Mini.
I spent so much on buying stuff I didn't like and subsequently sold I banned myself from spending any more money unless it came from selling stuff I aleady had and didn't use. I've sold a few bits on here plus some non vaping stuff on Gumtree and I've now got about 150 quid ring fenced for Vape related purchases burning a hole in my PayPal account.
My problem is, I can't think of anything I need** I've owned various mods, albeit budget ones, the most expensive being a VTR. Would a better mod improve my vaping experience? There are no more tanks that spring to mind that are better than what I've got now, except I wish tha Naturevapes didn't leak so much. I don't know if I want to go down the sub ohm or dripping road. If I'm happy with the vapour and flavour I get now why bother? Or am I missing out on something much better?
I've thought about trying one of the new breed of tanks like the Subtank or Atlantis but with the stock +ohm coils. I only do mouth to lung so do I need all that airflow, or are they substantially better than what I'm using?
I guess at this point, having spent so much on gear that I didn't like I've become very careful about spending any more money unless I know it's going to be an improvement on what I use now.
**I've put "need" rather than "want" because I see things all the time that I want, mostly mech/RTA/RDA combinations, because many of them look so good, almost works of art in their own right, but once I start with that sort of gear, will it make my present setups seem obsolete and lead me into a whole lot more spending?
Any advice? Just be happy with what I've got and spend the money on juices?

I reckon you gave the best bit of advice yourself. Treat yourself to some flashy juice. The subtank isn't designed for mouth to lung, it's far to airy for that really. Haven't got Atlantis, so dunno 'bout that one. Hope that helps Edit: If you are happy with your gear, stick with it. It's too easy to get annoyed with new kit if it leaks/fails/you don't like etc. Maybe buy yourself back ups for your favourites?

Would a better mod improve your experience? In all honesty probably not - if you have mods that can go up to 30w then unless you get into dripping you are pretty sorted power wise. Form factor personally I love the small box mods, so unless you lust over shiny tubes there is pretty much nothing superior that combines size, comfort, battery life and power - istick 50w maybe for that longer battery life.
Tank wise well herein lies the rub - if you don't want to rebuild and you don't lung inhale then your current kit is probably about as good as it gets - the full size Silo tank with a cotton wicked rebuildable head could add something perhaps but you are already building in hassle wandering down that road.
But and its a big but, head down the rebuildable route and learn to lung inhale and there is something else there and yes to my mind it is better. There is faff involved and you need to teach yourself how to lung inhale and not cough in a spectacular fashion (took me a little while) but yes you do get better flavour and a better experience with a little perseverance
Baby steps maybe - the Lemo drop is a fab little introduction to rebuildables - it comes built and wicked out of the box and the fitted coil will last an age and the wicking is very forgiving. It also is equally happy with mouth to lung with the air hole tight and lung inhales wide open so a nice chance to experiment. It does taste fantastic and can fog up a treat when given a 20w blast with a wide open air hole. It also does not leak!!!
Or maybe a Subtank mini - you can adjust the air hole on the big setting to tight for mouth to lung to wide open for lung inhales - it takes a great stock coil but is backwards compatible with your aerotank and Naturevape coils and you also get an RBA section to mess about with.
You can get both for less than 50 notes
And whilst you may not think you need to, once you learn to lung inhale its impossible to go back - it is quite simply a very different and more enjoyable experience.
Happy hunting

If you want to dip your foot into sub ohm tanks on a budget the Smok VCT is about the cheapest around right now, £14.99 on myepack, they come stock with two 1.2ohm coils but you can get 0.5ohm coils too.

I'll throw a different spanner in here...
If you're happy with your current kit.... KEEP IT. If it aint broke dont fix it.
Spend some cash on some mixing gear and start producing your own high end juices, you can tailor the flavour, amount of vapour etc to JUST HOW YOU WANT IT, and in my opinion there is nothing better than finding an ADV that YOU created

Try and get into lung hits. It took me a while but now, it hurts to do a mouth to lung. I found if you just go for it nice deep inhale you won't cough as much as being scared of it. Don't bother with the BIG 5-8 second inhales, just a deep 2-3 second hit will get you going. Also if you go down the dripping route, lower your nic levels. My current set up iv had for few weeks Istick 50w with subtank mini or when at home being lazy a little boy rda. All in about 100 quid, get some cotton balls 1 pound few meters of kanthal bout a 5er, or premade coils maybe 10 iv never brought them so not sure the prices. Or you could just send me your money so I can spend it on more rdas hehe Good luck and ATB

Stress with istick 50w and the smok vc1 best set up I've tried I can adjust the airflow if the liquid is a bit much but mainly have it wide open had to change the drip tip as I couldn't get on with the larger one just didn't feel right but I keep going back to it. But if your happy with set up no need to change get some nice juice or start mixing your own or save the money until you do need something
Alternatively donate it to me and I could spend it easily on mixing gear

Buy a load of concentrates, vg/pg and nic base and get mixing. It really is incredibly satisfying to tailor your own juice. Chris

Or save the money until something comes along that really takes your fancy . . . which it surely will, the rate new stuff is produced now. I've done it all too often, bought something for the sake of - only to wish a few weeks later I'd been a little more patient. A few new eliquids/nice drip tips in the meantime perhaps without blowing all your spare pennies if mixing doesn't interest you just yet.

If your happy where you are save the money you can spend a great deal of time and money chasing something better and usually end up frustrated and less satisfied. Making your own juice is a good idea cheaper, better and individually suited to you plus iIfind it relaxing so iI think everyone should do it lol.
Got to say as well because I'm seeing it a lot subtanks are just as good mouth to lung as they are direct lung I've got two keeping my lemos company and I only mouth to lung 1.8ohm on the rba section they kick out flavour and vaper very satisfying vape.

Get along to a vape meet. That way you can try devices and liquids before buying anything and get advice on how to set up properly etc.

I agree with above : 1.Try to get on a vape meet 2.Try vape straight to lung.I recently learn to lung hit and is a whole new experience. 3.Try to find a juice you really enjoy. Not the one that is OK to vape, but the one that you looking forward to vape.

I'd say you've got it cracked. Don't regret money spent on gear you ended up selling at a loss, it's necessary to test drive products to find how you like them. I agree a new mod won't make any difference. Maybe time to think about the TPD, our government will bring in laws between now and May next year and the attys you use won't be legally for sale. Consider how much you want to spend between now and then, and plan what you want stashed away.
