Hi everyone I'm back with another problem. I have been using cartomisers but decided to try again using the clearomisers. Filled up ok BUT during the day and overnight the juice has turned almost black. It doesn't look nice - looks like when fag butts turn water a horrid colour. I noticed this the last time I used one and threw it away but they are brand new clearomisers. I have only one juice that I am using and haven't noticed any difference using the cartomisers apart from always having a slight burnt taste. Why is this????? ???

What juice are you using Trying? They do all oxidise to some degree when exposed to the light, if it tastes iffy straight out the bottle though, I contact your Supplier.

Hi Perpetua happy new year
The juice is a rye4 and have had it for about 6 weeks but am now half way through it so I will use it up anyway but only in a cartomiser. Is it normal for juice to turn black - the ones you sent didn't

I've not heard of juices going black, however I got a bottle of menthol out of my juice box & it had turned almost solid It had been opened a while, but I wasn't expecting that. None of my other juices have or had ever done that before. So, anything is possible. If in any doubt, I would bin it or as perpy suggested, contact the supplier.

sweet juices especially turn black, it is simply carbon which is an inert substance with absolutely no health risk. This happens in all cartomisers except most are metal so you cannot see it. It is the stuff that gunks up the coil and makes the vape drop off eventually and it is the hard residue left on coils if you have ever taken a cartomiser or atomiser apart. just to reiterate : It is carbon, NO health risk. Darker e-juices and sweet juices tend to produce more carbon. you could rinse the cartomiser out and most will simply wash away.

Hello Trying! Well, I've never had a RY4 turn black on me . . . it's generally a golden shade of varying degree's . . . I'd contact your Supplier myself. If you warm your Menthol juice up Hissie, standing the bottle in a cup of warm water, it should loosen up again. Using all VG, the Menthol can sometimes recrystallize.

Certainly sounds a bit odd. However, I'm sure someone will come along and put your mind at rest.

As a newbie I don't really know what I'm talking about but you mentioned a burnt taste. Would it be possible that you burnt the juice and that's why it's black?

The menthol can crystalise in menthol juice especially if it gets cold. Simply put the bottle in a cup of warm water for a few minutes and then give it a shake and it should be okay.

I'm actually considering trying a pg mix to see if I can tolerate it. I rekon it's probably less likely to bung everything up.

I've never had a juice go black, not in cartos or clearos, and I would not consider it normal I do get very dark patches in clear cartomisers, it frightened me at first, but it's amazing that they disappear with continued vaping and the cottony stuff goes white again.

I wouldn't consider it normal either Scylla . . . juices do darken down and oxidize when exposed to the light/heat . . . but turn black, I've never had that happen.
