Because of the stupidly placed 9v charger right at the top. Juice dripped into that massive gaping hole!

There was a lot of talk that there was juice inside that one if I remember rightly. I would never charge a battery inside any mod if I didn`t have to. Bound to be some heat build up, why risk it?

Who knows, if we had got the IPV4 before the Evolve and the DNA had appeared, we could very well be cursing them now Yea you're right, looks like I was just running mine too hot then and it's just a setting..... for now.......but when Dr F releases his data on e juice chemicals then it might well be nice to know the coil is pretty accurate.

Ok, so IPV4 set to 310 F and 20 J just ran my subtank dry and it hit the dry coil no liquid display on the mod and I didn't get a mouth full of burnt cotton So it works in a way, the quality of vape at 310 F compared to 460 F was just as good, still odd that the YiHI chips are 100 F different than the Evolv chips...

ok im gona put my size 13,s well and truly in it is tc worth having a play with, sort of if you are good at coiling and wicking and have atties that have nuff room for the coils to get the right resistance if you are good at the above then you dont realy need tc as you just use the right wattage/ohms to get the best outa your attie so it only saves you from dry hits is it worth paying silly money for hell no,at least not yet as there seem to be to many differences in what is considered tc i honestly will go for my goblin over my tc,ed subtank, why i dont know but i just like the goblin more(maybe because i dont sound like Darth Vader when in sucking on it lol) is the sx mini better than the mini invader (tfd) i cant say to be fair but its kinda like trying to compare a provari to a clouper mini both do the same job more or less just one cost a wee bit more so the best way is to try a cheap known as working tc mod before you jump in to the £60 plus ones in my honist opinion because if you dont get on with the coiling then its just going to be used as a normal mod am i glad i got a tc mod yes but im also glad i didnt splash out on a sx mini or dnar because i now personally could not justify the difference in outlay

On the IPV4, see 310F and think 450F. I have a feeling there may be another update coming to the IPV4.

I don't have such big feet as decoy but I'll put them in anyway. No one seems to mention pre heat when talking about these devices. I think that getting the coil up to temperature rapidly is the biggest contributor to the increase satisfaction I'm getting from my vape. Maintaining and limiting it to that temperature during the draw is also helping get the best vape from the juice. I wouldn't bother with it if the only thing I expected it to do was protect from dry hits, it's the extra flavour it's giving me I like. I've gone back to kanthal builds, I think I know how to optimise a build, but it was a let down after using nickel with temperature sensing. There are constraints when building with nickel, but it becomes second nature after a little practice and as VB said more ready made ones are available. Opinion is so divided and that makes it a difficult decision for prospective buyers, many (the majority?) seem negative or are ambivalent, my experience has been mostly all positive. Should you buy? Should you wait? I suppose you just have to roll the dice.

Good, well performing TC mods are now just about the same price as equivalent wattage standard device, with more coming online everyday. On FT today a nice looking 60W TC Zero mod for £38-50 posted in China Shopping. It`s becoming a normal feature of mods now. It isnt just about not getting dry hits, but it`s certainly a boon to dripper users. Pre heat is fine, but if there isn`t a significant delay in warming up, it`s not any kind of an issue, for me anyway.

I`m gonna do a test later with a temp sensor meter on the Kangxin at 450F and on the IPV4 and see where I get a match on the IPV4 with the Kangxin at 450F. My money is on about 300F

robby What in your opinion is the advantage of the good performing TC mods you mention over the standard ones?

With a dripper, it is the standard taste and flavour you get throughout the vape period for one top up. On a standard mod the flavour can vary quite a bit as you go through the liquid. Plus, very rarely need to rewick, give it a rinse after a few days dripping and the wick is still pristine inside the coil. I`ve always been a flavour chaser ever since I started vaping, mostly with my trusty Phoenix dripper that cost me about a fiver from Vaporbreak. Now it`s the Magma which I haven`t bettered yet:) Next on the list is a 50W squonker, preferably with TC at a sensible price
