Taste! I don't think anyone has measured that, or maybe they haven't got the equipment or just not got round to it yet If you mean the actual taste imparted by nickel, I don't really find any difference. But if you mean the flavour of the vape, I find it full and rounded with more mouth feel. Pre heat gives a warm burst of flavour I like. When I switched back to kanthal the vape seemed thinner and slightly muted by comparison.

As @scooby said I don't find any noticeable taste from nickel, but the temp limiting allows you to keep the temp at the sweet spot for your liquid, it is really really worth while, I get the best flavour and by a reasonable margin. It also keeps the wick and coil a cleaner for longer, I have a 30 ml needle bottle that I have used for a year or so to suck up the condensation from the deck and top cap and the slops are a much lighter colour from the DNA40 and a change in colour in your liquid means a chemical reaction has occurred, from heat in this case and why the liquid on the wick is often darker than in the tank.

Not very scientific, the probe can move inside the coil, but a general idea at the moment is IPV4 142C but showing 311F Kangxin 148C but showing 450F So I am probably at 440F ish on the IPV4 -V- car147 RoscopecotrainSimilar results as my cotton test I posted a page or so back for my mini m class I had, 150f out. They using the same chip?

So it does work and run at temp, suppose you can look at it as the screen is out instead...! Firmware update should be easy, should it not? For 6 months I have been running at 400f plus so I was just burning the crap out of my juice on the m class, never had so many burnt hits in one day in my life.... Ha ha.

You would think it would be easy enough to do, but will they bother? they must have thought they were right Yes, the mod performs exactly as you would expect if you just set it at about 310F. If you couldn`t see the screens, you would be hard pushed to tell the difference in vape between the kangxin and the IPV4
