I dont know letsavit, I dont know whether they have the ability to fart around with the firmware when they get the chips from the makers. It`s probably just a programming glitch, but it seems absolutely fine at that temperature. Needs fine tuned a bit, could probably be 10F either way but it is performing as well as any of my other TC mods at that setting. The voltage display is wrong, possibly for reasons I mentioned earlier, the PWM method and interpretation. But the mod is working The firmware updates was the selling factor for me over the DNA40 but too many burnt hits and a dry cotton test showed me something was out. Spending £150 and then hoping for a firmware update wasn't good enough at the time. Might jump back in one day on this chip....

It looking okay so far, when I turned it down I was expecting the poor vape you would get with a Kangxin or Evolve chip, but it was spot on

letsavit .............. On the plus side, you can adjust the temp one degree at a time if you feel that way inclined

I'd love to hear your views on why it's the worst mate that's such a strong statement lol I have a dna 40 device and the Yihi mini m class as well as several other box mods and mechs now. I have not touched anything else since getting the Yihi mini m class. I look forward to your reply. richo71I don't think it does temp control well enough, I run my DNAs at temp, ie I let the chip sort the watts out. I don't think the m class can do that, it can't control the temp of the coil quick enough. Had one for a few days, only mod I have ever owned that I sent back and did not want a replacement. I'm no fan boy of anything and take no prisoners , slagged the DNA off at the start many a time, had the glitched screen, learnt how sensitive it is to the 510 and reading ohms, the mods wiring etc. but the chip itself is solid. Just my view take it or leave it.... I assume you will leave it.... Thanks for the reply, its nice to get yours and others opinion on the different devices, thanks pal

What have you learnt from this thread phatfil is everything now clear in your mind Its clear that there is a lot of debate on the subject, so if the board getting warm ( i assume through battery heat thru hi discharge), is generating errors, why isnt someone fitting a diddy cooling fan into the boxes?? I gather its not a measured temperature but rather one derived from determining resistance and power applied, which should be fairly acurate? well within +/- 5c, assuming good connections.. The fact that F is the preferred scale of measurement is a bit of a negative, i may be an old git but im not that old.. I think in terms of degrees centigrade.. Im either gonna take a punt on the £32 dna40 mini vf -kx from focalecig, tho the way they are dragging their feet shipping my el-cheapo was owl Now terminator squonker, i probably wont.. So i will have to resist temptation sit on my clicky buy finger a bit longer.. So am no better of than when i first asked really.. No one dumping the image from the dna chips and sussing a hack fix yet? anyone got the source code for the dna-40 chips?

I think they all read centigrade phatfil the DNA40 does and I use C. Everyone seems to use F, don't know why except the very first DNA40 was F only and everyone has stuck with that. Most of the technical stuff goes right over my head, but I've found a coil build that works at a certain temp and power my main atties and as I said apart from the C bug, which is no big deal I'm a happy vaper, it's never been better. Good luck with your purchase.

not read the whole thread cos quite frankly cba, but if you wanna do it on the cheap (like me) link not out yet, on a presale £25 but apparently works just as good as a dna chip might even be one. Who knows.

At Xmas time I will be jumping on the sx mini ( hopefully updated version of it) bandwagon as friend let me use his for a day and it was great though I used centigrade not Fahrenheit set at 180° and it ran the tank dry with no burnt hits at all but budget doesn't allow for one now hence going with the dovpo linked above. I'm in the curious camp on tc and this will let me play a bit and get used to building nickel coils though I'm well aware it can be hit and miss for a lot of people should be fun either way.

I have the Vapor shark rdna 40 and just think the M class destroys it in every way. On that note need to go put it up on the classifieds for sale. Well you can't beat a technical explanation to sway opinion ! I could sit down and hash out plenty of numbers that mean nothing to 95% of users or I could tell you that between the two devices it beats it hands down in real world everyday operation. It feels better, looks better and vapes better in my opinion. On wattage or temp control. I also love that fact it has mech mode as well. I love the menu set up and the little subtle differences like whatever way you look at the screen it will flip it over. I'm annoyed this device is so good because I want the excuse to buy something else I love buying new vape gear but it's that good I've touched none of my other boxes or mech mods. But believe me when I see something better come out I'll be all over it. I'm not a yihi fan boy this is the first yihi device I've used! What I am though is a vaping fan boy. When something works it works. For me this thing works. So until something better comes out and I hope it does so I can splash the cash I won't change. If you have the money make the dive you'll love it.
