same as normal just need user input location and thats it as all other info already there With all microcraps resources, they can't determine location via IP address? Even a lot of open source and hobbyist systems can do that. Can't wait to being forced onto this OS in the future (when look forward to a microcrap OS, satan will be ice stating to work.) Doesn't always work - I have just had to report my correct location as this is what was showing for my IP address - I live in Camberwell, South London:

I made the mistake of reserving Windows 10 on my main Win 7 machine. I'm going to be replacing that PC so I want to put my retail of Win 7 on the new one. Well, I don't know if anyone else has been in this scenario but Win 10 is adamant it wants to install. I think I've figured it out, but what an ordeal and way too pushy IMO.

That's why I'm saving the retail Win7 from this PC to go on a newer one (then go to Win10), because if I'd gone to Win10 now that would be that licence locked. As for the pirated software I've read that Microsoft updated the EULA to allow them to remove any pirated software that is found on your machine and unauthorized hardware, but it's only things you buy in the MS store. We'll see. I've got Win10 on a couple of other machines, and I admit it's not blowing me away at all. At least Classic Shell now works on Win10 OK - much better looking IMO.

MS money will not work with windows 10. It is asking for Internet Explorer 6 to be installed. I have been using MS Money for my personal accounts for a number of years and would hate to lose all my past data. As Microsoft no longer support MS Money, they probably will not sort a fix for it. Gone back to Windows 7 for now until someone sorts out a fix.

After about 14 hours I finally got windows 10 but it was very unstable and I didn't like the design so I've rolled back to windows 7. I have an older PC with windows 10 reserved so I will try that one after the expected October updates and if I'm not happy I'll stick with windows 7 for as long as I can. Dave

Same here, I'm on a 6 year old dell studio xps which was a very high spec unit in its day with the first of the intel core I7 processors and can still hold its own It's all working fine with windows 10.

My PC is 5 weeks old, built for me by my local computer shop and as far as I'm concerned they can keep windows 10. Dave

I've upgraded my 6 year old Toshiba laptop to 10 to have a play and so far so good. A few glitches downloading the upgrade at first but was fine after that. I'm finding it boots quicker and seems to run faster than it did on 7. Edge seems a bit clunky when scrolling down a page quickly though but that could just be my machine. I will play with it for a few weeks before I upgrade my 8.1 desktop.

I got fed up of waiting for my Win10 download to actually arrive. I kept checking the little 'window' icon in the system tray, but it just told me to check later. I found that I could download it from MS using the 'media creation tool' which offers either 32bit/64bit. I have Win8.1 installed on two separate HDD's, one for daily use, and the other as a 'master copy' which I could clone over (WD True Image - free version) if the daily OS went rotten. To clone over only takes about 30-40 minutes to complete which saves me about 2-3 days in a fresh install, all the MS updates, installing software and games etc. So using the 'mct' I downloaded and installed the 64bit version on to the HDD that is in daily use, which only took about 55 minutes or so, then a few more minutes for some extra updates, and it all went smoothly for me. Then I knocked it into shape by disabling a lot of apps, uninstalled ones I didn't want, and disabled that Cortana, and OneDrive, and the new version of IE, which I don't like at all. I still use 'notepad' for little notes I like to keep on the desktop, as I don't like that 'OneNote' thingy, it seems far too flashy and complicated for my addled brain. Once done and now looking just like Win8.1 but with a few extra icons in the task bar, I rather like it to use, as it appears to be a little faster to boot up/shut down than Win 8.1. But for my back up, I have cloned Win10 onto another HDD for safe keeping, so now it is available to boot up on two HDD's, but Win 8.1 now is only on one HDD, so I must get another drive to clone it on to so that I am covered should things go wrong. I also run Vista 64, which is stable (I know the whole world hates it) and rarely gives me a problem, and that is also cloned onto another spare HDD. I hate doing fresh installs, as it takes so much time to do, whereas cloning makes life easier. I just boot up the drives and update them about once a month to keep them fresh, should the need arise. The I just disconnect the 'master' copies (paranoia of getting infected drives ) until connecting them for the next updates, not that I have had a virus since my Windows 98/SE days, downloading free screen savers and such. I use Vista for some things like copying over photo's or videos off my Nexus 7 2012 and 2013 tablets, as I cannot get Win8.1 or Win10 to recognise them. This has been a problem for many people I believe, but good 'ole Vista accepted some software to recognise both versions of the tablet, years ago. My machine dates back to 2009 when I built it, and still going strong, which means that I can play World of Tanks on line with some very nice people from the UK, Germany, Greece, Sweden, and Denmark so far. But as I am coming quickly to 70 years (December) my poor reflexes are not as good as they used to be, but I manage. So sorry, have I rambled on far too long ? Thought so, but I like Win10.
