reddragon superb, well done. I hope in years to come that Drakeford and his other assembly members are taken to task, possibly even to court for causing the "DEATH" of many 1000`s of Welsh people who will die of smoking related illnesses. Due to their dogma and listening to the Big P & Big T lobbyists, in making this ridiculous proposed into law. I for one will not be visiting Wales & putting money into those hard working businesses. VAPE ON & VAPE SAFE .Peeps. P.S. I am Welsh living in England thank goodness.

The big problem is that if vaping is banned indoors in Wales "because it looks like smoking" then that sets a terrible precedent. it's a central part of Drakeford's dogma unfortunately.... I like ASH's stance on this (never thought I'd say that!!)... they basically say that (and I paraphrase shamelessly) 'you've got to be an idiot to be fooled into thinking for more than a split second that someone is smoking when in fact they are vaping'

I've just read through some of the comments on this article on the BBC news website and I'm just astounded at the ignorance some people show on the subject of vaping, here are just a couple of trinkets. "It says on the tin "e-cigarette" so the word cigarette still there, therefore it is bad for your health. If one is so determent to stop smoking she/he will be able to do without the need for e-cigarette which contains nicotine. Please be humane to yourself and just stop it - it kills. Thinks" Well done to Wales for bringing in this ban. If 'e-cigs' are allowed to continue unchecked, it won't be long before people find ways of inserting real cigarettes into the casings (assuming that's not what they're doing already). Good for Wales I say, and the sooner it becomes law in the whole of the UK, the better. complete eejits! ok I'm off to try and stuff another rollie into my tank....

Twit of the day award. Some bloke comes on Radio five live and says "surely they are banned anyway... I mean, are their any lawyers on the show?.... they must be already be covered by the smoking ban?" If they were already covered by the smoking ban, I don't think you'd be phoning a show to discuss how/why Wales is going to ban them, because they would already be banned... and maybe you should ban yourself from thinking about complicated issues such as "we are we banning something I want to see banned because I think...oohh hold on, are there any lawyers on the show?... I want to re-ban something which might be banned but I can't make up my mind because smoking and vaping must be the same and anyway.... THINK OF THE CHILDREN." Maybe children are banned. Maybe Wales did this but it's unenforceable... wait... are there any lawyers on AAEC?

Their headline... "Opposition grows to the Welsh Government's plan to ban on smoking E-cigs in public places"Whilst a good article, why oh why do the media still use THAT word when describing vaping. If only we could find a better term, ie e-cigarettes, without the implied association. Also just wanted to say well done to reddragon on a superb response. Very articulate and if they had no agenda, should make them think.

Replies already from two assembly members, they will not be supporting the ban (unless substantial evidence of harm is uncovered, which they are not aware exists) both these members are conservative. Not heard from labour, libdems or plaid.

I've written to my AM (Labour) asking for her personal views on the issue - and challenging her to explain to me why I should bother taking part in any further public consultations when the assembly are just going to ignore the majority opinion.

So the only claimed reasons is re-normalising smoking: so why not just ban cigalikes? they asked the public who clearly did not want the ban many scientists, respected non profit orgs and public health professionals have explained why it was a bad idea no science to back this claim no conmen sense, no sense what so ever
It is great to see our side of the argument feature more prominently in the media and hopefully after they learn more they will get better at spotting ther blatant BS.

I don't think that people will listen too this ban even if it does happen, I don't vape in resteraunts but always vape when in shops and I wouldn't stop doing so, this is just another way of the government to make money for something pointless by giving out fines and wasted court dates. I know some of you may not agree but why not ban alcohol from shops, they solt me drink when I was 14 and there's always underage kids drinking on the streets and adults are the culprits not the kids because alcohol has been accepted as a norm in this day and age.. If I never drunk alcohol I would have never touched a cigarette so I smoked from about 14 until 20, I got bought a bottle of Jack Daniels for my 18th birthday its still in the cupboard right now, I've drunk alcohol twice since turning 18 both times having like 3 cans for a charity events for my friend, the money went to charity and there wasn't any other drinks for sale so that was that.. Now I'm 21 haven't drunk for over a year and feel a lot better than my best friend every day who is 20 and already been classed by his doctor as an alcoholic. Now things like this with vapeing turn me sick to my stomach! I wouldst much rather my child (not that I have one) vape than drink alcohol.. I think the point what I'm trying to say is this seems to be about the kids that could get involved but there's bigger things to stop them getting involved in than vaping!! By the way I'm not aiming at any one or trying to start a debate just saying my point of view, think I might contact my mp myself but then I would probably be wasting my time because the government never listen, could be worth a try though.. Will try and get a letter written asap as see what happens.

Even non vapers will oppose this bill. The bar we go to in Edinbugger for our vapemeets...well the punters there are definetly not anti vaping, in fact many of them are interested in it, talk to us about it, and some even give it a try.
There is a hardcore pool of cabbages who oppose vaping and always will, unfortunatly, some of these complete doughnuts are in power and will go to bed smiling if they drive us all back to stinkies. ( not that big towhacco or big sparma are lining their pockets, heaven forbid that we have corruption in th UK)

Well done reddragon:)! maybe us Welsh should start a few vaping protests, as we know the facts that the government banned smoking in Wales before England before, I'm guessing England would be next for a vaping ban, so maybe we would get a helping hand from our fellow Brits as support aswell.

It is definately worth a quick letter to your AMs, this is a really easy way to do it, just put in your post code, after you have sent, you need to verify the link in the email they send you and that's it. It will all help, there is a lot of opposition to this, our letters will help. www.writetothem.com/
