Has anyone washed their coils?

Was watching a youtube video on how to clean Nautilus coils and was wondering if anyone had tried it?

They cleaned them under the hot water tap and then blew through them and left them to dry, or used vodka.

I remember doing this kind of thing back in the day when I first started vaping. Used to do it with old school 510 atties.

Not nautilus no i don't have that tank but for other tanks yeah i stick them in an ultrasonic bath, i see no reason nautilus coils should be anydifferent it's just a vertical coil in cotton same as the others.

when I put something I don't like in the tank I wash the whole thing under hot running water, swab it with kitchen towel to dry change the coil and start again, so far only one coil has died from this treatment, but I think that might be one I have washed and left to dry several times, right now I have 3 coils drying out and if this mince pie juice doesn't grow on me a 4th might well be going the same way....

It can work well with rebuildables especially, just fire them red hot, release the switch and hit them under the tap then blow dry and finally pulse them.

Seems to work best with kanthal

Works grate with temp limiting cause you can dry them aster washing by firing and get up and running in no time.

Ive never owned a nautilis but on many other tanks, the dry burn and quench in running tap water works a treat. My kraken coils generally remain in use for 4 months at a time doing this every fortnight or so.

I wash and brush off my Ni200 and Titanium coils because dry burning them is a No No. Used to wash out Kanger coils when I used them but they didn't use cotton back then, and I don't really think that rinsing out cotton works to well. You're better off changing pre-built coils or rebuilding them if you have the skills, once cotton is burnt that's it, you'll never get rid of the burnt taste.

Sometimes I do hissie . . . . an overnight soak in Bicarb of Soda, or a few cycles in an Ultra Cleaner I've found the best methods.

Whilst I don't find that they're as good as new ( Nautilus/iSub coils ) it does help to revive them for a little longer.

There's no beating a fresh coil though . . . . .

I never re-use a wick, but I do soak it over night so I can work on it without my fingers getting covered in juice.

I have tried to wash my nautilus mini coil with hot water but after it dried and I tried to reuse it just didn't work

So from then I just replace it when the time comes

I tried washing nautilus coils but it didn't really work that well, ok as a standby fix if the post was late.

Haven't done that for a long time.. Never comes out like a fresh coil.. You can dry it by firing it on your mod

I do it all the time with my kanger coils, mineral wicks, As long as the actual element is not burnt out they last forever. You can't burn the wick even with direct flame. Usually good with a soak in hot water and a rinse, otherwise the ultrasonic. The other advantage of mineral wicks is they dry very quickly. Once you've scorched juice into cotton it's either rewick or bin.
