Thanks for the link VB very informative and has helped me understand a few grey areas. I have been playing around with Steam Engine this week, looking for suitable builds for my aromamizer. I have built quiet a few coils and am making a bit of progress. (I think! ) My preferred heat flux is quite low, ( around 150mw/mm at 35w ) I realise that the aromamizer is more suited to lower ohm's and higher wattages but am hoping to get it working reasonably well. Do you know if Steam Engine can be used in reverse, so to speak? ie. enter the heat flux, coil diameter etc. and then let it suggest number of wraps and size of wire? I am probably wide of the mark here and talking b######s. Too many variables I imagine! becks - if you have an iPhone take a look at an app called Micro Coil Pro - it's quite easy to see what your heat flux will be given your build and will give you a good indication of the settings to use to get a decent vape.

Hey I tell you what else I've found and I forgot about. This may have been a factor in the variables I've found. Gawd I'm kicking myself now. Sometimes when I put a new coil /tank on the DNA200 doesn't always react correctly. It actually starts giving a weak vape and hitting tc way too quickly. I find by disconnecting one battery then putting it back corrects things. It definitely happens now and then with my Reuleaux and I need to keep an eye on the others. Hmmm I think I'll start a thread on this subject. I'm saying it here as it just might be part of the problems I've had with some testing of wires I've used. It happened earlier so it jogged my memory. Done the battery thing and I'm back happy at 400F 45w

Got the Nife on the go this morning, vaping on the Asolo at 25W, the coil is .28mm (29AWG), 3mm former, starts at 0.34 ohms and reaches 25W at 0.59 ohms.
A very nice clean tasting vape, will probably improve once the wick has had a bit of use. Vapor production is fine. I vape at 18mg nic mouth to lung. It set up perfectly on the Asolo with one 10 second "learn" vape, A nice warm flavoursome vape Will try it on other mods.

Getting a very similar vape on the XCUBE mini in nickel mode at 240F.
EDIT ................. needing 300F on the RX200 in nickel mode for the same vape and about 330F in titanium mode. Bear in mind I am dripping so the figures wont be totally accurate. Not possible to get out of TC in SS mode, coming in at the lowest temperature setting.

I agree it's a great vape but a shame it's so heavy with nickel and dry burning isn't advisable

My coils with nife30 stay super clean. After two days and four tanks there is very little gunk.
SS317l ordered for giggles.

With TMC SS317L what TCR are you guys using? 0.00088 or 0.00094?

I found the 317L was a no go after 4 days of rebuilding with it (which was when I ran out of wire) I was getting shorts either in the coils on the posts or against the case, I just couldn't get it to work which leads me to believe the wire I had must of been at fault given how many coils I've build with ni200 and A1 without the same problems/

I dont see any advantage personally in taste or temperature having tight coils with the possible "touching wraps" etc.

For some reason my cuboid seems to kick out of TCR mode with SS317L all the time, yet the same build works fine on my evic mini. My only issue with NiFe30 is the low resistance. Will try some twisted and see how I get on.
