ive been hearing a lot about diacetyl, how would you or how could you tell if this is in your e liquid ?

you probably wouldn't know unless you were able to tell the difference between a juice with and one without.

Theres been some recent discussion about it on here but I cant find the threads links for you ATM.
General opinion is there is nothing to worry about.
But if you are concerned its in creamy, buttery type of flavourings if it has been used.

normally when you see a (version) V2 then that is free from the nastys and its mainly custards.

do i still vape it, yup, am i bothered, nope.
have a search for popcorn lung as there has never been one case due to vaping.
the statistics show (off the top of my head as cant remember the exact figures) that you would have to vape D for roughly 400 years to have the same impact of working in a popcorn factory for 8 hours.

of course if your even the slightest bit worried about it then its best to avoid the nasties. suppliers are starting post their test results. alternatively ask them by email.

in sumarry this is what we knew already but thanks to the press and the media bollox it was once again blown out of proportion.

A few vendors are posting their GC-MS results, worth looking on sites to see if they have. You want to look for both Diacetyl and Aectylpropinyl.

Like most who hear the scare stories for the first time we reel back in horror to think we are jumping from the fire into the frying pan by vaping it, until some reality sets in. I don't work in a popcorn factory, but have smoked for over 40 years. I now vape. Firstly smoking was 100's if not 1000's of times safer than working in a popcorn factory. Secondly as above, vaping is 100's times safer than smoking. So based on that logic, I will continue as normal and not worry. The other factor to consider is that even among the billions of smokers no occurrences of popcorn lung were diagnosed. If the trace amounts found in e liquid are so bad, then we would have found evidence. If they can't find it in the smoking population, they sure as hell ain't going to find it among the vapers. That's not to say it's safe, but as the saying goes, there is probably more chance of getting run over by a bus on the way to buy your creamy custard e juice.

The risk is really over-exaggerated. The amount of Diacetyl you're actually inhaling is tiny, insignificant amount.

I still avoid it though.. along with anything that uses food colouring. There is many vendors that sell eliquid free of both and if you're in doubt, send them an email asking for more information.

That's a shame, I like the Menage a Trois - but should we really worry that much, *-SARIN-*!?

In addition to buttery flavours, other indicators are that the eliquid changes taste over time, some flavour notes may disappear and the eliquid becoming much darker means diketones are probably present.

That's a shame, I like the Menage a Trois - but should we really worry that much, *-SARIN-* !?

I used to smoke so the damage has already been done, i'm not gonna stress over the miniscule amounts present in e-liquid.
