Ghosts/Spirits

Hi guys,

First off; I am a believer.

I had a very personal experience in 2001 which I've never forgotten. It was also witnessed by 2 other people.

I'm a logical thinking person who works on an evidential level.

Since 2001 I regularly go to find evidence. Thus far I've collected a fair bit.

I will share my personal experience of 2001 with you all if there is enough interest.

All I will say at this juncture is that it happened when my Mother was in the last couple of days of life after being diagnosed with lung cancer (from smoking.)

My Mum was lying in her bed. She was unconscious due to a morphine driver implanted into her chest.
My ex wife, two friends are myself were in the next room eating dinner.
I had set up a baby monitor under her to monitor heartbeat, breathing and any sounds.
All we could hear was the constant click of the breathing and raspy breaths.

We then all heard a male gruff voice. The voice was not scary or threatening. Almost comforting. None of us could make out what he was saying.
All of us ran in there to find to her smiling.

We stayed for a while but nothing else occurred.

A short while later we were all sat together and it is then we heard what sounded like a young girls voice singing and talking. Again this voice was unintelligible.
Once again we all ran in there. This time her arms were raised as is hugging someone. Bear in mind she was unconscious and unable to move.

That was approximately 22:00 on the Saturday. At 08:00 on the Monday she crossed.

The back story to this is:
A) my granda (her dad) had a gruff low voice.
B) I found out at her funeral that she miscarried a girl when she was playing with me when I was a toddler.

In my opinion the two of them came to encourage her to pass.

Since then I have spent many hours collating evidence.

That was more difficult than I had envisaged recounting that story.

I've always been (like yourself) reluctant to dismiss anything without clear evidence. 


When my mother passed (cirrhosis of the liver) we had many strange happenings. Most were electrically related. T.V turning off on It's own. Alarms going off when not set. Fuse box tripping for no apparent reason. etc etc..


My eldest daughter (A very Intelligent lady, unlike her father)  was a regular at spiritual meets. She arranged to go to a meet shortly after my mother had died. The people attending the meet had no Idea her grandmother had passed, but during the session, my mother (apparently) joined them. My mother sent messages of love, and also her desire for the family to be happy. Some of the things my mother expressed were only known to me. Strange.


Although there will be many sceptics regarding this apparition, It leaves me with a more open mind regarding whether there Is something after we pass. But after my daughters experience on that night.. I wouldn't rule It out..

Thanks for sharing. I think there is a lot we don't understand. My OH is more of a believer than me when it comes to spirits and stuff, but there has been a few instances I can't explain. We have over the years being doing our family trees. While we are not as active now as we used to be, but when we were, there was a few strange things happen. On three occasions my wife would wake up and say a name, or in two cases a place. All three when we searched turned out to be right. Often these happenings would happen after we had visited churchyards and trampled over long lost relatives of OH. It didn't happen every time we went round churches, but three times seems more than just coincidence.

I truly believe that we as humans are capable of so much more. The key I believe is opening ones mind and then explore the potential.

I personally have experienced several phenomena that I cannot explain, and so has my partner.
She is much more sensitive to these than me.

The Mrs refused to go there, when I went the first time I was unaware of its history etc and within moments the hairs on my arms were up and I swear I saw a figure walking through an archway.


For me one of the most convincing and un nearving situations was in bodmin jail

We were on holiday and doing the tourist thing as you do.
Was me, Carol my good lady and skye our daughter.
Skye was about 4 years old and dye to autism was pretty much non verbal only simple 1 word like want,drink, food , Ted etc.
We were on one of the upper levels when skye started getting really anxious.
Up till that point she had been content enjoying the exhibits etc.
Within moments she started babbling and said a full sentence to which I will never forget.
She said don't kill my family, plain and clear as day. Temp had dropped in area as well.
Then started crying hysterically at which point we got the hell out.
Within moments of exiting building she was back to her normal self and wanted her sweets lol.
Both me and Carol were pretty shaken over this.

Berry Pomeroy castle is a very very strange place.
I too had my hairs standing on end. That was also through the arch way.
There could be ley lines there.

I have had what I consider to be some ethereal experiences in the past and I know of many other people who have also had similar experiences, most of those people have bene considered slightly deranged or unhinged at some point (normally shortly after the claimed incident) I belive there is something that happens to the spirit when you die but I have no idea what it is and I suspect that devil worship /occult things might have a more than a grain of truth to them and that as featured in one film they can get their life back if they provide 1000 souls to the devil within so many years (and that's why certain venues are haunted as the apparitions are trying to get people to kill themselves to get their lives, tormented into their task by having more power as the years body count racks up and every so often one of them makes it back and we see the likes of Hitler ) I think some people are protected from harm at certain points by helpful or healing spirits that flit in and out of their area, that at some points in a persons life its possible to tap into the stream of energy and achieve the impossible, and then these no help for decades.

however I have been to several haunted places and I have seen marching souls at one site in a small german rail town and I have heard the moaning of the damned, now everyone who admitted to that experience on certain evenigns was either confined to a padded cell or laughed out of work, rarely did anyone ever do or say anything positive, but tha particular location 2000 people starved to death in chains either locked in buildings or secured to a rail line (Nazis were evil fuckers) marching in hope of getting free of the track, when Germany fell at the end of the war the majority of the military stripped of fits uniform and became civillians abandoning posts and leaving prisoners to die, in this particular area they all ran away 2 weeks before the allies arrived ..... the local towns people heard those wailings and moaning and did nothing by the time the allies arrived they were already dead.....

what I cant abide though is the so called "ghost hunter" tv programs, that have degraded the entire exeriance to the point that they even have "an app for that" for the dead to communicate with them .... its so garbage and fake and the gullible just lap it up without realising its all done for effect....

don't get me wrong I fully belive possession can and does happen and benevolent spirits let go quickly whilst nasty ones try to rertain control... pretty sure I've had such an experience in the past but then it might be like the doctors said I was suffering exposure and lucky to survive (3 days without sleep food or shelter in sub zero temperatures on an exposed mountiain side that's covered in land mines, which I somehow manged to travel 95 miles across.... yet the mountain warfare guys reckoned it would have taken at least 7 days to do it)
