No problems Greg It's just I love the progs from 'my time', eg The Sweeney, Bergerac, Callan, Buds of May etc that I noticed, in some capacity, his name on most of them... so I researched him, and admired his contribution to the programmes I liked. So it hit me personally, when I saw his name in the obituary... another reminder of our mortality.

I can't say I recognised the name, but I do remember the programs. Another talent lost.

Yep a behind the scenes writer. I am also a TV watcher from his era, but to be fair at 84, its not that bad an innings. I know that sounds harsh, but its not meant to be.

Yep a behind the scenes writer. I am also a TV watcher from his era, but to be fair at 84, its not that bad an innings. I know that sounds harsh, but its not meant to be. My Dad died just short of 84 - my view at that age, despite the sadness - was that he had been given a good time on this earth, so I felt able to celebrate his life and not just mourn his passing. We do all have to decease at some time . . . . . hopefully later rather than sooner. Neither do I want to appear insensitive by my thoughts.

It's getting ridiculous the amount of celebs passing away recently. I will miss Bowie
