Todd's Temp Control rant !

TC is dead for me, tried it, didnt like it & im not prepared to waste anymore money on it, when (if) it improves then I might give it another try, but for now its 100% kanthal for me.

I build my coils because it makes vaping cheaper & I enjoy making things, aslong as I get what I want from that vape then thats all that matters to me......There does seems to be a blinkered view creeping into the vaping community that if your not into the latest fad or have the latest attys & mods then youre yesterdays news & you know nothing about vaping...which is obviously wrong, but I'm sure some people are buying heaps of vape gear just because of this "keep up with the Jones" attitude...(for my opinion on this please refer to my avatar)

Nice to see you here Todd, I know youre thick skinned so any haters wont bother you ;-)
I enjoy your reviews, Like most people that watch them I know they give your own personal opinion on something & I dont take what you say as "100% gospel", I watch other peoples reviews, read reviews & opinions on forums & then make my own mind up from all the information.
So thankyou for all the helpful reviews youve given so far & I look forward to more, incidentally a group of your haters on POTV are having a drip tip made, perhaps you could review it ???

Yes you do but only because the user has changed his display name such that it's different to his username. 
Only username tagging works

Certainly works on my solo mini and works well, done in three tanksful with Kanthal and all that happens is that the little juice icon starts flashing and you stop heating the coils. Simples

There is nothing magic about the Asolo, it just has a much more sensitive resistance measurement. Kanthal does increase in temperature as it heats, it`s a very small amount but the Asolo can detect it and control the temperature just like any other TC mod.

I`m currently vaping on the Asolo, the resistance only goes up from 0.92 ohms to 0.96 ohms with a kanthal coil from the Vaporesso when TC kicks in. Works great The best thing about the Asolo is that the resistance measuring is always live, you can see it heat up and then watch it cool down again in 0.01 ohm steps.

I was going to get the Asolo at 200watts but was put off by the reviews on Fasttech so went for the mini instead. How you finding it robby is the screen OK, is it underpowered etc. 1.6 stars from 4 reviews looks poor though one person rates it highly

TC can be a big pain in the neck and I've bought loads of different ss wires but only found one type and one gauge to work to my liking so far.
When set up properly it's a great vape to be had imo but dam it's been a rocky road.
Finally though I think I'm there and if my latest batch of wire arrives and works again as I'm hoping then I'm at a very happy point in my vaping life

The screen is fine, the little moving graphic thing is a bit pointless but , has that been changed? I like the display, generally have to up the percentage a bit from 100% but it`s not an issue Psardo didn`t really get it in my opinion. He was talking about it not "learning" properly and taking all afternoon to settle down, but I haven`t found that. Just one 10 second pull when you change coils (and adjusting your power or taste) and it`s good to go in TC mode.


EDIT ... I dont bother with the different Nickel/Titanium/Kanthal modes, it works fine with the basic method. The resistance difference will obviously be different for the different metals.

Nife30 has too much nickel
I don't want to use titanium
SS is a pain in the ass and mods struggle to stay stable with it.
I give up and now at 60w normal power with ss wire is working fantastic.
Unless a decent wire for TC is brought to the table I'm out.
Ive been playing with it for I think well over a year and it just does my head in lol.
So yes I'm ranting and pssd off
Crap just ridiculous

Tried Nife30 and don't like it but that could be worth a try Cheers
