Hi Peeps,me being a bit older than most of you acquired a Morris series e. Not this video car, mine was black with a red roof, along with burgendy velour covered seats. Cost me £25.00 which was a fortune back in 1961. Told my then future wife that I had an e-type (ha,ha) we still laugh about that old 8 hp side valve powered engine.

toots another mate of mine had a Triumph Vitesse, which at the time, was one of the faster cars around. It was all kitted out as a 'passion wagon' for him, although it did have an 'Esso Tiger' hanging from the mirror. None of us had more than a few years driving experience, but he used to scare the living daylights out of us when we were in the car. How did we survive? Gould knows Raffles. The first time I took my car down town after passing my test I didn't read the road properly and got stuck behind a flippin parked or broken down lorry. I held all the traffic up and everyone was beeping me and shouting all sorts of obsenities, I felt such an idiot at the time. I think my face went as red as my car, I was so embarrassed Took me a while before I ventured down town again, my confidence was shot to pieces after that.

My first car was a Triumph Herald - due to being so short I couldn't reach the pedals properly or see over the steering wheel so I had to have a thick board on the floor under the pedals and I had to have a thick foam cushion on the seat to raise me up above the steering wheel Thank goodness you can alter the seats more these days Snap...ish!
A beautiful burgundy 1966 (D) Triumph Herald (Harriet) soft top version though & I didn't need additional bits.

Peugeot 305 SR bought from an auction, driven home by my brother who forgot to check if there was any oil & water in it, promptly blew the head gasket so it sat at home until my dad could fix it for me, then followed by his MK5 Cortina followed by a Sierra Sapphire, my cars just got bigger and bigger as I went along.

I was born in the wrong era...older cars had way more soul and individual character!
I had a fiesta 1.3LX. Which means it had power steering!! I was so chuffed with it. Within 24hrs of ownership i wrote it off. Had it repaired. 2months later i blew the engine up. Put a recon engine in it. 1 month later i understeered into a roundabout and folded the drivers side front wheel nearly under the car. I then repaired it. 2 months after that i stacked it into a bollard in a disused car park doing handbrake turns. It was then that i realised i had some serious growing up to do. I repaired it and sold it. Never had a problem since lol

My first car was a 1975 Opel Kadette C otherwise sold as a Vauxhall Chevette, the forerunner to the Astra. I paid £50 for the car because at 12 years old it was only an expiring MOT and tax disc away from the scrap yard. Insurance was £75 for a new driver unlike the £1500+ it would be now. Blew the head gasket, gearbox, back axle, all manner of things went bang or clunk but it soldiered on until in the midle of a summer storm the windscreen seals sprung a leak and shorted out the dash. Very similar to this apart from mine was a muddy brown.

NGT 46D . . . . . . a black Volkswagon Beetle. I can remember a car registration number from 43 years ago, yet other than knowing my current car starts with an A - I'm clueless to the rest of it.
