Rather than derail the other thread about your first cars
Mine was a MK4 Ford Cortina 1.6L
Had my first driving lesson in it and the day I passed my test, I got home and it had a flat battery

1955 VW Beetle (1200 with sun roof). That car was turned into a beach buggy and if in original good nick now would likely be worth £10K..in the US anyway, because it was LHD

My first car was our family car passed down, I had to pay for it mind you It was a mark 2 cortina 1.6 on a J plate. It was originally silver but my fathers friend had a workshop and in there he had 12 coats of black paint applied with a nice gold stripe along the side and upgraded the wheels, seats and had fitted a vinyl roof. It looked great and as a teenager I always loved that car. When I got it I put a stage 2 head on and fitted twin webber carbs, converted the old dynamo to a more modern alternator. I still miss that car.

austin metro city 1.3l auto, closely followed by a Nissan cherry Europe 1.2l with the single cam alfa flat 4 engine, the first one was a POS with a so many faults it probably shouldn't have been on the road (its also the last car I bought from a dealership) the second I got off a bloke in the pub for 2 pints of cider and a £20 note, funny thing it lasted 3 years sailed through its MOT's and finally got sold for parts (after some plank ran into when parked) the engine +gearbox was bought by a scrappy for £800, I ended up giving him £20 back to take the rest of it away..... that had to be the simplest car I ever owned for working on and a dream to drive (even if it was ancient) I despised the lada I was given to replace it (I paid the same scrappy to take that away as well) always had faults, I got an astra estate after that, drove it al lthe way to hanaover where I sold it to a guy for a packet of fags and bought a Renault espace, the espace was fantastic kept it for several years untilli got a vetra which I had until my licence was yanked in 2006 and sold it to some chancer on eBay who used it for ram raiding ...... lucky me I had his picture and the sales paperwork...
the first car I drove was my mums trashed scrap heap little blue mini, 900cc thing that me and a friend spent months fixing up and pimping out only to try a field jump and it promptly fell apart on the landing ......

1970 Ford Zephyr 4 in a rather fetching avocado green. Zero to 60mph took about 10 minutes. Bought second hand for about £200 and sold for scrap a few years later for £50. The good bit was that it was a column shift and had front bench seats. Similar to this one:

Ford Popular 1940's (commonly referred to as sit up and beg). took my then girlfriend to Cornwall for a camping holiday and as the car would not go above 40 MPH it took 2 days to get there.
