The lick test wouldn't/shouldn't be a big tell with nicotine unless it was off. Doubtfull on the nic being off if the supplier is making large quantities but vague labelling......its a no-no. I'd say harshness would be down to steep times, even 14 days seems more than a tad under for a custard flavour. Its probably going to be ruff until the strawberry mellows. off topic....everytime I see a popular custardy vape lauded all over I think.....hmmm..maybe I'll part with a few quid on readymixed? But Campfire has strawberry so for me its definitely

My only ambition at the moment is to write a happy, non-complaining thread...one day.... :-( 1) Whilst waiting for my own custards to mature, I bought 150ml of "Campfire Custard" from Dragons Rise 2) Arrived today, opened it and did a "lick test" - I thought "Blimey, nicotine tastes REALLY strong" (I thought I was buying 6mg although the website says 0.6mg - and 0.6mg was written, half rubbed off, with a water-based black pen on the side of the bottle) 3) New Cleito coil - throat ripped to shreds - I have no idea what the nicotine level is but it certainly ain't 6mg I read all the reviews on "Campfire Custard" and how wonderful it is - only to be disappointed again. I have made my own custards and other flavours at 6mg and have vaped them straight after making so I am sure it's not just a "first harsh vape" problem if the CFC is newly made and has just been bottled. Twenty quid and another coil down the khazi - vaping is just starting to feel like a bottomless money pit 50g of Old Holborn anyone.......? i guess you didnt read the description on the website then. personally i dont like any of the other flavors on the site but ive now had 1050ml of campfire custard and i think its lovely. ive got about 250ml left and i must admit one bottle was quite harsh on the throat compared to the rest so i dumped it. every other bottle has been spot on after a good steep and 2 weeks is about right. i did tell Jordan that the nic strengths needed to be changed as 0.3mg can be confusing for some as it should read 3mg. he changed everything overnight about 6 weeks ago but as you mentioned its back to 0.3 again so no idea why. its been my ADV since before christmas which i use in my subtank mini on a istick40 at work. some have said it tastes shite in a dripper but after trying it in a subtank theve said it was great. all down to personal taste as tastes are so subjective. Which is why you should steer clear of this supplier. Why was it different from the rest? I mix my own, and once mixed some for my wife which gave her a "white ride". I deduced that I must have doubled up on the nic. It was easy to sort out, and she didn't sue me. But, if she had bought that from a supplier, I'd have taken him to the cleaners for wrongful labelling of the product, which is bought in good faith. It's shoddy business, and and needs to be addressed. His assurance that he has a "clean room" means nothing. Does he mean he swept the floor last week? Or is it sterile? If he makes the *odd* dodgy batch, where are the controls to prevent this? You even said that the offending bottle was from the same batch. How can that possibly happen? Did he put it into a dirty bottle? As I said, I would urge everyone to avoid the vendor. My tuppence.

I have a 30ml bottle of Campfire Custard and 30ml of Vimto here that I bought well over 2 months ago, the Vimto is Ok but nothing special and I found the custard a bit odd so its been left on the shelf to "mature" it has now begun to change colour (it was almost clear when it arrived) so perhaps its a slow maturer - I'll give it a go again in a week or so and see if theres any improvement. If you want a really tasty custard ghostrider1971 nomnomz are superb and made by our very own iLardyboy I did same order wise a while back, vimto was very meh ended up chucking in some inawera blackcurrant to pep it up lol. The campfire custard was quite nice but not what I was expecting, I made my own batch up with black fire flavour and ironically it works lol. The cherry yogurt is OK but I'm really fussy with cherry Vapes. Raspberry ripple is absolutely divine though.

I leave my campfire custard to steep for 10-12 weeks. Goes a dark brown colour and tastes great but gunks up coils. Find it tasteless if not well steeped.
Recent orders have a 'real' nic level sticker on. The Dragon Rise site did have full contact details on, no idea why not now. Think they're based in Fleetwood, Lancashire

Having perfected a Custard recipe of my own, I never buy custard flavoured juices from anyone these days, as they never shape up favourably to my own. I steep my custards for at least 2 months, and often considerably longer, so 2 weeks seems a bit short to me. Doesn't explain the harsh nic taste though, even at 12mg/1.2%

Update - Emailed Dragon Rise as suggested. Received a very quick and positive response stating I would get a refund or replacement if I posted the juice back which I have done this morning. They have already paid me for the postage to return to them and I assume will refund the rest of the order on receipt.
Although I wasn't happy with the product, the after service seems very positive so far.

Perpetua - Absolutely - they have responded VERY well so far. If they issue the full refund when they receive the juice, absolute fair play to them.

It's here, goneforagasper - Jazzmix! - nothing very revolutionary, just works for me! 15% Cap VC v1, 4% French Vanilla and 1% Sweetener (Ethyl Maltol), which I sometimes leave out. It's called Jazzmix! because I mix for a mate of mine, and we are both jazz players, and both love custard!

Thanks for sharing - its so near PVC that I am in the same ballpark (at 20/3/1) and I am loving it.

goneforagasper - I'm gradually nudging the percentage of VC concentrate down, having mixed at 20% in the past, and I'm not noticing any appreciable difference. I'm aiming to get this down to around 14%, and then may add a soupcon of something else, like Bavarian Cream for example, just to add some new note to the mix. The joys of DIY mixing!
