I am going to give the ecigs another go, so have been reading up all about the restrictions coming in about the sale of 72mg nic. I bought a litre about 2 years ago from the states. It is still in its plastic bottle in the box it arrived in. Should this be disposed of, or will it still be safe to use?
Also looking at getting a new ecig. I have always used a Sigelei Zmax and loved them, but thinking about getting a Smok Alien for when I start again. Am I right in presuming the tank it comes with, I can just buy replacement coils for it, and not have to re-coil it myself? I tried to re-coil before after spending a small fortune on a couple of tanks, and just could not get away with it. Many thanks for any replys.

If the nic was stored unopened in the dark (cupboard for example) it should be OK - from new it should be a pale straw colour but if it's really dark then it may have gone off. I know nada about the Alien.

It would have been better if you'd transferred the nic to glass bottle and stored in the freezer, although I'm currently using some old nic (maybe 3 years old) that hasn't and seems fine to me. Regarding should it still be 'safe'.... if bought from a reputable supplier, then yes. Possible increase in peppery taste and slight reduction in strength. I'd suggest trying it by mixing something, if you can, to see..... and also with the restrictions coming consider stocking up on more, if you think that you might get back into the swing of things!
Re. Advice on a new ecig ... I'll leave that to others.

Cheers for replies, I will dig it out and have a look at it tomorrow. Yes, from a reputable dealer, NicVape in the US.

Yep the tank the alien comes with uses stock coils but you can buy a Rba for it if you want, iv got the alien kit and I love it but don't forget the tank that comes with the alien is a direct lung tank ( just incase you didn't know )

The smell will soon tell you if it is still ok to use davemorton . . . . stored in a cool dark place then the anticipated shelf life is around a couple of years, so you're right on the edge of that. The nicotine will have oxidised/darkened in that time, certainly as you've not stored it in glass - to an extent that is normal and to be expected. Incidentally, aside from the impending regulations there's never been a better time to mix your own eliquid with the terrific selection of ' one shot ' concentrates we now have available from various Vendors . . . . mixology has moved on considerably these last couple of years.

As above re the Nic. The Smok Alien comes in two different ways either the mod by itself or the kit with the atty so as long as you get the kit you're sorted. The coils are good but try to persevere with the rba base as the savings can mount up really fast and once you've cracked it it's spot on. I'd recommend watching a few YouTube tutorials to find out which one works for you and maybe grab a bag of premade coils and some cotton you can use for it as they're cheap as chips.

Definitely persevere build your own and save money. Get yourself a coiling jig like the coil master if I was you. There's always the ready coils you can use in an rba which many people use and can be bought in bulk

Hi! If you are not planning on rebuilding, there are other options. These coils are very expensive. £15 for three from some shops. I use coils that are £5 for 5 from Fasttech. One per week per tank (so 2 per week) £104 per year vs. £520.... My liquid today was made using 54mg from 2013. It's fine. I don't know how much NicVape charge... but it seems a lot of fuss to order Nicotine base from the US. As I understand it, there are a few UK suppliers who get their Nicotine base from the same factory in Switzerland.

'Back in the day', before the prices dropped out of nicotine, Nicvapes from the US was competitively priced. Yes, a few suppliers, such as Everything E-liquid and The E-cig Shop say that they order from Alchem Switzerland; Darkstar order from somewhere in the USA, and myself and a few of the big suppliers (TW, LF) used to order from the UK's own Nicobrand.

They certainly were, plus Rich supplied VG base/higher than 36mg strengths in both PG & VG which at that time were quite hard to come by in the UK, the service was also faultless in my experience . . . . and didn't attract any attention from HMRC initially. That situation changed however and mine ( and others ) deliveries including concentrates began to attract extra duty, which wasn't so bad in itself - but the extortionate ' handling charge ' from RM made orders really quite expensive. Fortunately by then our own UK Vendors had caught up with the trend for home mixing and it became possible, more viable to buy supplies within our country.

In truth, unless you can get goods into the country without attracting attention, the US is a bad place to buy from. I know folk who've ordered everything from golf balls to ice skates, smartphones to tablets, guitar strings to brake pads. It's very difficult to be sure what's going to happen. I know someone who bought $300 worth of Provari stuff and never paid a penny extra. I also know somebody who bought a $7 clearomizer and it worked out twice as expensive as buying from the UK.

Definitely . . . . . I also paid duty/handling charges on everything I bought direct from Provape! Largely we ordered from the US as they seemed to get new equipment much faster than the UK ( Gotvapes was once a very popular overseas Vendor ) and buying directly from China was still very much in it's infancy. How times and our shopping habits have changed!

The RM handling charge is £8. Not extortionate in my view. Anyone here working for free? All countries do this to protect their domestic markets. Posting within the USA is a nightmare, as each state can have different vat rates for commercial goods.
