Hi one and all! I've already posted a "hello" message in the "Hello & welcome to the forum" thread, but I've been advised that more people will see it if I make a new thread, so here goes. I don't have much of a "story so far", as I'm fairly new to vaping. Started a couple of months ago with an ego/riva 510 type starter kit. Have mainly been direct dripping onto SR atties, but am currently waiting for an order of LR Boge cartomisers to arrive, so I can give those a try. My plan after that is to start thinking about upgrading to a better battery type, but I need to do more research on that. Would be interested to hear how most people progressed, if they started off like me with an ego/riva 510 kit and then upgraded. What's the best next step up the vaping tech tree? As for liquids, I am liking the Grizwald's range, but to be fair, they're the only ones I've tried so far. I guess that I'm similar to most people who move to vaping from analogues, as I was initially looking for something that would replicate a tobacco taste. But after a short while, I've found that the flavours I enjoy most tend to be the caramel / coffee / dessert (as long they're not too sweet) ones. I'm especially loving Griz's Peanut Butter, Toffee Popcorn, and Caramel Cappucino. Any recommendations for other liquids to try based on those preferences would be much appreciated! One thing I've only just realised (after ordering the LR Boge cartos) is that different flavours are suited to different resistances. (I don't know this for certain, I'm just going off what I've read in other threads.) If this is correct, given the types of flavours I prefer, I'm wondering whether LR cartos are maybe not the best choice? ??? That's about it. This seems like an incredibly friendly and helpful forum, so I'm sure I'll be coming back repeatedly with a wide range of newbie questions over the coming months! Some non-vaping trivia, by way of introducing myself: I play guitar (mainly blues/rock/metal); I also play poker (although not as frequently as I used to, since most of my money is currently tied up on the ill-fated Full Tilt site ); and I also play Starcraft 2 (where, as a 38-year-old who has only played the game for about 1 year, I mainly seem to get the snot beaten out of me by 21-year-olds who've been playing Starcraft since they were 11. If you play SC2, and would also like the opportunity to beat the snot out of me, look me up: my ID is Kurotoshiro, character code 350). Nice to meet you all!

Hello and #welcome2# kurotoshiro I started with a cig a like (rubbish) but it got me into it I then went on to a 510 starter kit and im currently using an ego type battery with a xl clearomizer. I too tried the tobacco flavours but they are just not my thing I like sweet fruity ones but I also like not so sweet dessert ones its all a personal thing with the liquids. I play Runescape btw I've played it for around 6 years now not all games are for the kiddies Anyway enough of me rambling on have fun and read as much as you can also dont worry about asking questions they are all such a helpful bunch

I started with a mini kit and progressed to a Riva and use this with either an Imist atty or rainbow visions, very happy with this. would really like to have a Provari.......... but a little too expensive for me at the mo. Griz's juices are excellent just love cocomel & arctic lemon You should give Vapour Juice UK, Fredom Vape, Paradise Vape & Vapists juices a go too....... all are fab!

Hi Kuro. I indeed started with a Riva kit. I did love it. It lasted all day long and into the next, so the 2 batteries were used alternatively. I played around with various juices, but also found Griz`s liquids to be the best for me. Especially black cat and cocomel. Ive since moved tentatively into mixing my own flavours up. Mostly by following Grizwalds recipe collection, which you will find here > www.allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=mixology&thread=2230&page=1#82481I am now happy with the mini Argento, and find that 1 18350 battery just about last a full day, with a spare as an emergency. Obviously i still carry a back-up for my back-up, just in case I also started with cartomisers, but found they do mute flavours, and so when the stardusts came out, i switched to them and have hardly moved away. Are you sure your`e not me in another guise? because im also an avid poker player, but not online. I prefer to see the whites of an opponents eyes, unless of course they are wearing dark glasses, but to me thats a sign of weakness anyway. So i play pub poker, with an occasional game round someones house. Keep firing the questions if theres anything your`e not sure about, and your`e sure to get an answer pretty sharpish

Hello again Kuroto. If you're thinking about upgrading from your Ego, then there are a couple of ' Mod ' suggestions I'd make . . . For a Variable Voltage device a Lavatube is hard to beat, many of our forum Supplier's are offering really good deals on them with a discount code. For non VV . . . I've been really impressed with the Argento from Britvapes . . . there's a 15% discount code at present . . . argento. www.britvapes.co.uk/As for juice flavours, I've a sweet tooth myself, although I don't care for anything too cloying. Kev at Freedom Vape mixes a lovely Butterscotch and his Caramel is pretty lush as well. There's also a 10% discount code on his goodies. www.freedomvape.co.uk/

Hi nice to meet you Kuro I started with a cig-a-like then went on to riva/Ego bats. I then got a Lava Tube wich I really like, but recently I bought an Argento Mod, well 2 acctually, the mini and the normal Oh and I also have a GD box mon from liberty flights. I tend to use the small mods for out and about and the LT at home in the evening. The argentos came from here and they also have a good deal on the mini LT at the moment www.britvapes.co.uk/E-cigarettes/cat1204755_1218514.aspxI suppose it all depends on whether you want to try varialble voltage or not? The Argentos, for the price, pack a fair punch with lr cartos on them As for juice, grizwolds range is good but there are other good juices as well There are some nice ones here and there is a code somewhere on this forum to get 40ml for £12 delivered www.vapourjuice.co.uk/Happy vaping

Hello and welcome. I might give some of those flavours a try, but having tries sweet ones, my taste is going back to tobbacco flavours. I can recoment the Pistachio flavour from Griz, It is very nice in deed. Which mah battery do you have for your eGo? it might be that you have a smaller one and just getting the larger capacity would be enough. In saying that though, a lot of people have changed up to VV or VW units (variable Voltage / Variable Wattage). I believe that the most common one out there is the Lavatube with a stardust attomiser attached. If you want to try some other juice have a look at this post allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=suppliers&action=display&thread=6510&page=6 there miight be some still left.

Welcome to AAEC kurotoshiro.
Unlucky you had money in Full Tilt. I was part of a stable on Black Friday. I didn't lose any money myself but two of the backers lost tens of thousands and at least $25k of separate BAPs from outside investors was locked up. Good luck getting your money back mate.
Sorry if nobody else here knows what I'm on about.

Urgh, that's not good, but at least you didn't lose anything yourself. I'm guessing you're a pretty solid player to get backing. In my case, I'm really only a "recreational" player, making a small win-rate at micro stakes (helped along by rakeback of course). Fortunately did not have a very significant amount of money tied up. I do know someone who has two-thirds of his br on FT, though. Not sure exactly how big his br was, but I know he was comfortably rolled for $3/6 and higher, so I'm assuming he's got $100k+ tied up. Hopefully Stars will go ahead with the rumoured buy-out and sort out the whole mess!

I think if Stars do buy them out, it'll be very bad for the game. Stars would have no real competition so rake would never come down. Plus, chances are they would just buy it to stop them re-opening.
It's a really uncertain time for pros now. I'm an STT specialist (though I rarely have time to play now) and only a couple of years ago a reasonable grasp of ICM would be good enough to reach an ROI of 10% even at the mid stakes. These days even micro players seem to understand ranges, bubble play, squeezes etc. There's such a small edge now that the variance is ridiculous.
Since I really will be making no sense to anyone but you I'll just say good luck with it and I hope you enjoy AAEC.

Thanks for all the replies! I just want to check that I understand the difference between the argento and mini-argento. Is it just that one runs at 3.7v and the other runs at either 3.7v or 6v? Are they essentially the same otherwise? Also: what are the pros and cons of opting for VV? I'm assuming the main advantage is you can tweak the voltage up or down to fine-tune how different cartos / juices perform. Is that basically it, or am I missing something else important? I think if Stars do buy them out, it'll be very bad for the game. Stars would have no real competition so rake would never come down. Plus, chances are they would just buy it to stop them re-opening. Hmm, I'm inclined to be a bit more optimistic. If part of the deal is that the DoJ will allow Stars back into the US market, and that market eventually becomes fully legal and properly legislated (as now seems more or less inevitable) then Stars ought to have serious competitors, given that the major B&M casino companies will be jumping to get into a legalised US online market, and will no doubt want to challenge Stars for their ROW player-base as well. Since I really will be making no sense to anyone but you lol. "Triple range merging", eh?

I think you can only get 6v out of the Argento if you stack batteries, which isn't really recommended. So, the only difference is that you use a larger battery in the large argento, so will last longer. You got it about VV. I probably only use mine between 3.9 and 4.5, i probably get the same results with the argento and an lr carto. The advantage of VV is that you don't experience any drop in power as the battery discharges
