I don't know that Virgin is any better Sandra, been ticking along quite nicely since doing the ' upgrade ' . . . this morning, switched on the lappy and it can't/won't connect, was fine last night. Desk top connection upstairs is ok, so another phone call to CS after work tonight seems likely, if it hasn't miraculously mended by the time I get home. Hope I don't need a new laptop.

Tis ok Beauty . . . spent the day, winding myself up to a show down with Virgin Media's CS tonight, wondering how many more hours of my life I'd have to spend listening to Alesha blinking Dixon chirping away. Only to switch my lappy on to find it now working all ok,you can stand the Home Guard down.

I generally find perps that occasionally you have to reboot your modem , the process is as VM advise ... Turn off OFF all connected pc's /laptops etc , turn off router ( if you have one ) then power off VM modem for a few minutes .. then the restart procedure is ... VM modem on .. wait 5 mins.. turn on router .. wait a cpl of mins then turn on pc .. In fairness it usually sorts everything out ... the only probs I seem to have is I go through routers for fun

Drives me crazy when you don't get the service you pay for, from these companies Sandra, yet they're chucking squillions at advertising their services. Good luck with your lot, you're being very patient with them. Thank you for the info Storm, I'll do that next time, before getting in a strop. The thingwee I've got now, is a modem/router combined apparently, only one thing to go wrong now as opposed to the previous two . . . .

Oh yea I forgot they now provide a modem router in one , generally for new customers only , wifee recently got in touch and enquired about the new tivo box , got told the usual bull then said ok we'll go to sky ... next thing we get new tivo a spare box for another room ( when I get round to installing it , but thats another tale ) got our package size increased and now pay less than we used to
