I've had a very glitchy internet connection for a good month or more now and yesterday it finally packed up completely. No service on my desk top and no wifi connection to my laptop, fortunately I bought a Pay as you Go dongle so I've been able to use that, rather than being cut off from the world! 3 go's it took me to get through to speak to an advisor . . . finally accomplished after 25 minutes spent listening to some god awful music. A service call was booked for this Saturday . . . automated phone call this morning, it's been cancelled as there's a known fault in the area so I'll be ok once this has been repaired apparently. So, I phone the 150 number for a moan and to check if this call is deffo cancelled so I know whether to stay in or not Saturday . . . yes it has apparently. But! I've just now had another automated phone call, asking if I could confirm my engineers appointment for Saturday. So I've done that . . . go to the website, only to find I don't have any Engineer appointments booked. It's like pulling teeth with these mega companies. Sheesh. > * And breathe Amanda *

It's getting through and speaking to a ' human ' in the first instance that's so blinking well frustrating Sandra. I don't know now whether I've a call booked for Saturday or not now, might steel myself later to give them yet another phone call.

Lol . . . I'm the same Gaz. TV & telephone I can happily do without, broadband is my life line to the world. This Pay as you Go dongle isn't to shabby, £15 for 3gb . . . you have to use the allowance within a month, which I'm sure I'll do.

You end up losing the will don't you, by the time you've gone through a million and one options and then had to suffer Aleshia Dixon warbling away for 20 minutes.

At one time Virgin's wait times were so bad they offered another level of 'sophistication'. You could choose the genre of hold music you wanted to listen to by pressing 1 for pop, 2 for rock, 3 etc!!!

They still do OneDay, I pressed what I thought would be a safe option, only to get the warbling one. 20 mins with aleshia dixon mmmmm no warbling tho pmsl There must be many worse things in life... I was actually talking about dancing - she's very good at it. Afterwards, however....

So, still no Broadband. Appointment automatically cancelled because of known fault in the area, which is now fixed . . . but I'm not. Another hour on the phone this afternoon endeavouring to speak to a human being, rather than Aleshia Dixon. Upshot, I now have an Engineer calling in the morning between 8-12, after a mini rant to Colin at Virgin.
