Looks like I will have to try one of each, I should learn to take some advice. I have just been trying trial and error but must say on the whole I have been successful since day one. I dont seem to have had some of the problems others have had.

Did you start of with a ScrewDriver Ali? I looked at them originally but thought they may be a bit technical for a dim wit like me! I like that fact that they are totally mechanical and made in the UK, they even come with an English instruction manual

No I started with 510 kit lasted about a month before I had a need for something better, battery life being the main problem. I do not know what I am doing right but the cartos I got from Jason seem to last quite a long time compared to what some of the others are getting. I am really pleased with the screwdriver it seems idiot proof apart from fragile end cap but am getting a yen for something more however being scottish by birth I would hate to pay out and be dissapointed with an alternative.

The Echomisers are very good and I'd not want to put you off trying one out. They hold lots of liquid (2.3ml) which lasts for ages and can be refilled quite a lot of times before they start to taste 'meh', so work out as good value for the price. Changing flavours is a bit of a trial of patience as a result, probably not the best idea for trying out something new with either.
I'm very fond of the Kanger Horizontal coils myself, they're cheap and perform very well, also last pretty well too. Not such a disaster using one to try out new flavours if you decide you don't like it, either - they hold about 1ml. They are also available in either 510 or 901 threading but even the latter will require an adapter for an SD (901 - 808) due to airflow requirements if you want to give those a go.
Lots of people seem to like the eGo Vision/Stardust cartos, which are in the middle size-wise, holding 1.6ml. I've only just started trying out a couple of the longer-wicked V2 version so reserving opinion as yet - wasn't terribly impressed by V1.
Dual coil cartomisers come in various sizes and resistances, the lower resistance versions fizz and pop like the clappers but do produce terrific vapour. Some people just adore them, and they will last longer when used in the carto tanks you may have seen people mention because they are kept wet by this method.
If you have been happy enough with SR (standard resistance) there's no real reason to change. LR (low resistance) atomiser or cartomisers are intended to mimic the experience of higher-voltage vaping using standard batteries like SDs or eGos. It is supposed to produce a warmer vape in larger quantities with more throat hit but in practice it can sometimes just seem harsh and does run your batteries down faster too. LR atomisers very often only come with DOA warranties and aren't expected to have as long a lifespan so are slightly cheaper sometimes.
All cartos I know about only have DOA warranty, as some of them are getting a bit pricey (particularly the larger ones) this is beginning to seem a little unfair to my mind but the sellers are only passing on what their suppliers do with them.

Ali, end cap - do you mean the cap that covers the fire button? TW are selling their stock off at the moment so it may be worth your while buying a spare one and a spare switch mechanism

Don't want to disillusion you Karma, but the MKII Screwdriver is made in China, to Trog's specifications for TW. The MKI was though made in the UK and still is as far as I know, when the MKI first came out . . . you literally couldn't get hold of one for love nor money. Have a look at Trog's FB as a seller on Ebay, back in the day when ecig sales were permitted and you'll see how much prices have reduced since then. feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=trog-100&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller

Nah, you were nearly right as the MKI is. And the MKII design is all down to Trog, albeit not made by him . . . TW wanted to be able to sell them in large numbers and the only place that can manufacture in quantity/ cost effectively, is of course China.
