I was hoping that TECC might have the odd spring hanging around, save buying a kit.

I never ever saw a spring listed on it's own. Apart from the switch it's most likely the part that everyone is looking for ... quite literally!

IMHO it's bad customer service to sell a device that is renowned to have this kind of problem & not supply a cheap solution

I might buy a couple of springs from the DIY shop just to see if they fit.

There must be another way of buying a suitable spring! It is, after all, only a tiny wee part of insignificant cost. There is a box on ebay cgi.ebay.co.uk/150pc-SPRING-ASSORTMENT-EXTENSION-COMPRESSION-SPRINGS-/310236488439?pt=UK_DIY_Material_Nails_Fixing_MJ&hash=item483b8922f7#ht_3044wt_1137 that may have the correct size in it for less money (considering postage) and could last you years.. There are other ways of 'acquiring' the correct sized sample. Many years ago, pre kids, I was a buyer/project manager for a small aircraft interior design/manufacturing company. We did a lot of one off jobs (eg King of Morocco, Mr Al Fayed etc) and only needed one or two of a certain part, so would ask for a sample, giving the impression we were in the market for hundreds. The usable samples would flow through the door and we frequently came in under budget I reckon it would be fairly simple to source the correct part and blag it. I'm happy to have a go at getting one if you like

IMHO it's bad customer service to sell a device that is renowned to have this kind of problem & not supply a cheap solution Well at least they do offer a service kit for £4.99 plus p+p Chrissie. Which in my opinion is quite reasonable. I suppose they could charge £2.99 for the spring it's self! It's not the supplier or manufacturers fault if someone lost the spring. Can you think of any other supplier or manufacturer that would charge less for a service kit? The button assembly is a working part of the device. With most e-cig devices if the switch button fails ... you throw it away!

Give it a try Jaki Not sure what size the spring is since I've lost it. Maybe someone could supply the measurements. I will check out ebay too.

YGB your right it isn't a stockist problem, it's a manufacturer problem.
Maybe the SD MKII should come with extra spare springs, or maybe the maker of this e-cig should never have sold it with such a problem.
