Hi Scylla PG tends to be dry mouth, sore throat or allergy type symptoms from what I can tell. Glycerine gives some folks the squits and bubbly bellies. I use pg mostly myself but it probably depends on whether you can get used to drinking more or having a dry mouth.

I've upped my fluid intake considerably since vaping, I wonder if that helps at all, although it does have a small drawback in as much as what goes in must come out.
But I can easily cope with that!

Hi Kate I used to drink constantly while smoking - tea, coffee, water - but my intake has gone down a lot since vaping (It couldn't possibly have gone up, I drank so much - had very damaged mucus membranes.) I've noticed a dry mouth on occasion but never had the sense to note what I was vaping at the time scylla

Re the 'tight chest' issue, I too have this sensation (not problem) and I feel this is owing to not smoking cigarettes any more. When I did smoke I coughed constantly and, of course, my 'tubes' were likely coated with gunky tar. Now I'm vaping I don't have the irritation that caused the cough and, therefore, am probably not clearing away the mucus in the way that I did previously, hence the tightness. I am taking a good expectorant at the moment that is helping to loosen everything up. I feel absolutely fine however, better than I have since I was a kid. I've had no other unpleasant symptoms other than bleeding gums that is also common after ceasing to smoke cigarettes. Fox

Quite a few years ago there was a young man (about 30-something) living in the flat below me - when he gave up smoking I could hear him coughing at night for a long time afterwards, he never used to cough when he was smoking. It's the poor little cilia being de-paralysed and moving the stuck gunk around scylla

Sounds horrible Scylla, it just goes to show how different we all are, I'd developed not surprisingly considering the vast quantities of cigarettes I smoked, a horrible 'smoker's cough' again that's disappeared completely for me since vaping.

(she never did - I wish we'd had vaping when she was around). Fox

only side affect i have has was that there was a hell of a nasty smell which i could not work out and i also found that i could not eat properly it was a disaster BUT after days .... well not days more like hours .... ok not hours probably a few minutes thinking ....which was kinda sore i figured out that awful smell was fresh air !!!!! and the reason for me not being able to eat was 2 fold the taste of food was so intense i no longer could eat certain foods and the other reason was i had to keep removing my e-cig from my life from time to time
OK i am a loony but I have been told people prefer me like that

At first, I had a very sore mouth but using a non alcohol based mouthwash, Cordysol for about 2 weeks got rid of that. Tried VG because I thought it was a reaction to PG and had a terrible digestive problem Went back on PG but have to watch what flavours I use because I do react to sweeteners. Now just vape low PG mainly tobacco flavours and I'm ok. Everyone is different, I think you have to persevere and find what suits. I was determined to make it work for me but I can see how the negative reactions that people get, can make them give up, perhaps a bit too soon. My daughter started vaping 7 months ago but despite bleeding gums, she still vapes because she knows its safer than smoking.

Maybe some of reactions are due to an overdose of nicotine? I mean if people are vaping like a chimney on higher strengths than they used to when they smoked, then this is no doubt going to have a negative effect. I know someone who overdosed on nicotine because they still smoked whilst wearing a nicotine patch. This was when the patches first came out tho', so this may no longer be a problem. By the way, he did live to tell the tale
