Maybe some of reactions are due to an overdose of nicotine? I mean if people are vaping like a chimney on higher strengths than they used to when they smoked, then this is no doubt going to have a negative effect. I know someone who overdosed on nicotine because they still smoked whilst wearing a nicotine patch. This was when the patches first came out tho', so this may no longer be a problem. By the way, he did live to tell the tale Think you may have a fair point here Hissie. I lurk on different e-cig forums and am amazed at some of the high strength nic vapers out there. What I would worry about is that some of them who may have been light smokers before becoming vapers may become chain smokers on the analogues at some stage. I do hope not of course. Ken.

Agreed Ken on the high stength nic vapers, I always considered myself to be a heavy smoker ( I was! ) and although I start the day on 24mg by afternoon/evening I'm on 18-11mg, I don't think my throat/body could cope with the 36mg strengths.

I think thats very sensible Hissie. On one American forum I looked at lately there was one guy chain vaping on 48mg nic and boasting about it. Oh well live and let live and of course everyone has choices Can't help thinking though that these guys must be a sellers dream. Ken. x

This is an essential aspect of Vaping which needs to be fully researched in clinical peer reviewed studies. The damage cigarettes do takes decades of use to appear – there is always the possibility that E-cigs could be the same ...... and even any minor issues should be looked at seriously and resolved before Vaping hits prime-time ...... However, collating nothing more than confusing “anecdotes” from people who may just be mistaken or hypochondriacs or just plain newbies who are unsure of what they are doing ...... is only going to sway the results against Vaping and give more ammunition to those who want to suppress it ...... not to mention there could well be people who will deliberately offer negative symptoms to cause unnecessary concern and put further "evidence of harm" right in to the hands of the Anti-Vaping lobby ...... But most importantly ...... is it really wise to start drawing attention to this just when the frikkin MHRA decision is only days away from being announced ?? I wonder whose genius idea this could possibly be ...... a supremely intelligent and highly qualified professional, who has a background working in a Government and/or Corporate environment at a very senior level, with legal experience and medical expertise, perhaps ...... or could it be someone who has none of the above attributes ?? Looks like Clueless-Kate is off her medication again ...... or is secretly in cahoots with Tobacco/Phrama ...... who am I kidding, it’s probably both .......

If you've smoked for 20 years and vape for say 7 years and then ooops you've got something how are they going to know if the smoking or vaping did it ? Unless its obviously never been caused by smoking no-one is really going to know.

I'm sorry not to have been around here for ages - other stuff has kept me busy....
I've not read the link yet (will do so later) but having read this thread, I have to say that I've had some awful side effects, and I'm still suffering dreadfully.
But all of these effects are due to quitting smoking; I can say this with confidence as I quit smoking in February with the aid of the ecig but haven't used that at all in 5 or 6 months now.

Thanks so much for your support - the doctor assures me that I'm fine, and I just have to tough it out....
With hindsight, I'd never have quit the nicotine so suddenly and finally. It'd have been much better to have gradually reduced the nicotine over a period of time....
But my point is that any adverse effects that may be put down to vaping might also be due to quitting the smokes....
