I'm very new to this, and wondered how you used vaping to give up analogs, or even if you still mix and match.
I've got a set of SkyCigs that I take to work, and still go outside for a puff through the day. I still smoke analogs as well, although I have cut down to just one or two at work and maybe eight or so during the rest of the day. So I'm now smoking 10 cigs a day, where I was smoking about 30 before. I've got the LavaTube at home and still experimenting with different combinations of juice delivery bits and pieces. I intend to slowly get rid of analogs altogether when I have found a combination that works for me.
Is this common? Or did you just switch over to Ecigs and stop analogs in one go? Did it take long to mentally switch over, was it a battle or did it come easy? I've battled with quitting a few times over the years, and am curios as to which method works for the majority.

I've quit fags for good for nearly 6 months now. I'm afraid it's either all or nothing with me. To be honest I think it just fantastic restraint on folk like you who can massively cut down. I know I'd start off just having "a couple" a day, then before I knew it i'd be up to 20/30 a day again. Like you, I take a looky likey to work, as I really can't be arsed explaining my eGo to folk who'll inevitably go "oooo, what's that?", and use the 'proper' one at home. I'm lucky that despite Mr Boo still smoking rollies, i've so far managed to not crave a real cig yet, and that includes going out to pickle my liver on occasions too

After Vaping I could not stand the taste of fags and I stopped immediately. My Sh*tty little cig-a-like that I had gave up one evening about a week later when I was out and I scrounged a fag off a mate, I lit it up and nearly barfed, that was the last time I even took a puff. If you can find your right flavour/strength/delivery system it makes it very easy to ditch the analogues.

Firstly, well done on reducing the cigarettes you smoke by two thirds!
I really think it depends on the person and their goals, and also how quickly they find something that works for them. Do you want/need to stop smoking cigarettes altogether, or are you happy with where you've got to?
I started off on the e-lites, realised that they weren't the best (understatement of the year), so I was still smoking cigarettes as well occasionally, especially at work. I wasn't really enjoying them, to be honest. I joined here, took the advice given on here and got my Riva. I haven't had a fag since. Yes, there are occasions when I'm tempted, especially when I've been extremely stressed , but so far I have managed not to give in.

I also think that everybody has their own way of doing it. I had tried stopping smoking umpteen times over the years and then was persuaded by my Daughter to go and try an e-cig, I said I would, although just thought it would be the same as everything else id tried with before, went to the shop, bought one and have never had a propper cig since although I have thought about having one on a couple of occasions, but havent as yet and hope that I never will. Well done on cutting down and good luck with your vaping journey

I cut down from 15 to 3 and then cut one out every week or so. One night I forgot to have one, remembered it and started puffing away, Yeuch it was horrid so I put it out and haven't had one since However I succeeded I think cos I didn't put any pressure on myself and did it when I fel ready. You sound like you are doing fab and have cut it by a third. Do what feels right for you

Big Bang for me, Been wanting to give up for good for a long time but never found anything to help me be able to do It, Then I got a free disposable from electric zebra and as soon as I tried It I knew this was the answer I have been looking for, E-Cigs are a god send and I love them. I've been off real fags for 10 days already and absolutely no desire to go back to real fags.
Wishing you all the best!!

As soon as my first e cig turned up and the battery had finished charging, I've never smoked another ciggie again. If the looky likey's had worked as they should have the first time around in 2008, I'd have been off the fags for well over 3 years by now. They were hopeless in those early days unless you had an endless supply of money to keep buying new parts/kits every time they went wrong. (That's how it was for me anyway.)

Took me 5 months slowly cutting down and vaping. It took me a while to get the right set-up and juice that worked for me.

Well done on cutting back so much...from what I've read everybody goes about it differently, I stopped as soon as I started vaping and haven't smoked since, I've found a good tobacco substitute which I like after a meals and when I get a craving for the old anologues but most of the time I enjoy those sweet pudding vapes.

Whatever works for you Bob and Mrs Bob Some vapers never comppletely give up the ciggies! Count the ones you don't smoke not the ones you do I didn't intend to stop, just cut down. Before I knew it I was only smoking 2 rollies a day so just thought I would try not to smoke any and found it quite easy It does help to have a kit and juice that you like and works well for you. My advice would be to enjoy your vaping journey and don't put yourselves under any pressure

Hi Bob, Big Bang for me, but not intentionally. A couple of visitors to my workplace kept going on about how they were having great success with them, and let me have a go. Didn't do anything about it for a month or so, then had a week off so did some 'googling' about ecigs. Nearly got put off with all the weird language used on the forums but thought 'what the hell, let's have a go'. Went for the Vision eGo kit which came the next day. Lit up a 'stinkie' as I put it all together and charged the batteries, saying to myself this is my last fag (and laughing at myself, yeah right, I doubt it very much). Then took my first vape. That half packet of fags is still in a drawer and I've had no urge to go near them. I can't explain it and did not expect it. I've now covered the cost of start up and have juices left for at least a month, so seeing the cost savings is also a great motivator to never go back! I think it helped that I hit on some flavours that I liked very quickly. In fact I'm sat here posting this with Apple, Blueberry & Strawberry by my side and alternating throughout the day.

I just love reading all the posts on this subject.... well done everyone regardless of how why or where you are on your vaping journey...... #icon_bravo# I have wanted to stop smoking for years.. tried just about everything on the market.. patches got me stopped... life... never failed to see me start again..alway's around the three month mark. I bought a skycig kit and extra cart's with my fag money for the week so in my mind I had to go for at least that week without a fag.... I was out on my motorbike one day and the skycig battery died pinched a fag from a mate...Eeeeuuugh!.. decided I could do this with a better kit. bought my vision 900 and have never looked back.... 26th of August is D-Day for me... the 3rd month quit.

It was getting past that first one in the morning for me, took me a couple of weeks . . . until I woke up one Saturday morning and simply didn't want a ciggy. A sensation I'd never experienced in 36 years of smoking, after that I knew I could crack it. But, as everyone has said, it's what suits you Reefcat. It doesn't matter whether you're a hare or a tortoise.
