Irene,
A proper hello from me now, stick with it girl and you will be a true vaper in a few days time.
As the others have said, get some juice from James. I tried both L&B and Benson Fences to start with, 5ml bottle of each. Then I ordered the big 60ml bottle for £22 of Benson Fences and stuck with that since.
I use the 36mg because I used to smoke 40+ a day of John Player Special.
You don't have to have loads of carts filled. I have been using the same one over and over for the last 3 weeks and just take it off, drip a couple of drops in, for every cig I used to have. It's so easy and not a problem to do.
I have kept the same one, because I got some blue filler from Jaki (before James sold it) and it's been a bloody godsend, I haven't washed it, changed it, prodded it or anything.
I also use Low Resistance atomisers because I like the bigger hit. I must be having so much nicotine now, but I don't care! I'm not annoying anybody, and don't have the baccy smells I used to have!
I have a Riva kit, a Tornado kit, some LR atties, a bit of blue foam, a big bottle of juice and that's all I need.
I did have some problems at first, like most newbies do, but suggestions on here solved them all.
Sometimes new atties have "gunge" on them that tastes vile, but once they have "burned in" are fine after that. Sometimes I overfilled and drowned the attie so it didn't burn good. But now I think I have most things just so and know what I am doing.
I still occasionally smoke normal cigs (analogues) but I don't chastise myself, or consider myself a failure. I've cut down more than 80%, so have already saved a fortune and feel the benefits to my health, and sense of taste and smell.
Everybody on here helps everybody else, and we have a laugh into the bargain....and sometimes even a bit of "marriage guidance"!!!

Irene,
Welcome....I'll say hello properly later, but to get you started - the Tornado comes with pre-filled carts. They DO say on them, none, low, med, high. The highest would be like a 18mg strength. So try that one to start with. It depends how many/what strength you used to smoke. I bought a kit and some 36 mg juice from another supplier (more about that later), so you may not be getting enough of a hit, or it might not be strong enough. Look for the printing on the cellophane wrapper and try a high one.
Did you charge the batteries? You need to put the atomizer on the battery, then the cart. Hold the button down just before you lift to your mouth, then suck as you would normally for about 4/5 seconds. See how that feels.
It is all a learning curve, and you will succeed with the help from here.
Have a go of the above and get back to us if you have any more problems. I suspect the "juice" isn't strong enough for you.
For me, it's just the same hit/taste/vapour as smoking.
Good luck

"I am sorry but due to the safety reasons"
What safety reasons? Shame they didn't elaborate, and if it was me, I would have asked for clarification.
Until and if, they are banned by law, have they any leg to stand on?
Although I suppose, it's their plane, their rules - whatever those rules are. If one of those rules was to strip naked on entry and sing the Hallelujah chorus, you'd have to do it if you wanted to fly with them?

Welcome! Newbie here also, 40/50 a day, John Player Special. Joined mid June, with a few others on the forum at the same time. At that time we all went for the Riva. But....the Tornado is virtually the same and if you act now, you will get it for half price at £25. You will also need some juice. The Tornado kit comes with some pre-filled carts of none, low, med and high nicotine. But for me they weren't stong enough. So refill with your own juice. I buy Benson Fences from James at 36mg strength. £22 for a 60ml bottle. You might like to get some "sample bottles" of different flavours though. www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk/products/titan-510-and-screwdriver-e-ni-kits-products.htmlwww.paradisevapeuk.com/I've been more than pleased with the Tornado/Riva and the juice from James. Plus lots of help on here if/when you hit a hitch! Good luck. Kath

Welcome both! As another relative newbie, this forum has been a Godsend!
I'm 58 years old, been smoking since my teens, up to 40/50 a day recently. I didn't want to give up, still don't. The e-cig has been a total revelation.
Like the other newbies, (we all started around the same time in mid June) I started with the Riva, as it had just come out and had good reviews. I was thrilled with the very first drag. I have now got a Tornado, because TECC has a half price sale. I use 36mg liquid and a Low Resistance atomiser as I need the nicotine and the hit. I had one or two hiccups as have others, but I've not given up.
I do still smoke 3/5 "normal" cigs a day, but that's because I choose to.
As Scylla is very fond of saying, don't count the ones you do smoke, count the ones you don't smoke!
Good luck. Kath

The Riva/Tornado is elegant looking and comes in a range of colours. TECC have a special offer on at the moment of a full Tornado kit for £25 - 2 batteries, 2 atties, cone, charger, adaptor and a tub of various strength carts. I've been very pleased with my red one. I started with the Riva. I don't know any others as I'm a newbie. Most of us that joined the forum at the same time went for the Riva. The Tornado is exactly the same in looks and performance. www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk/products/titan-510-and-screwdriver-e-ni-kits-products.htmlHope this helps. Kath

I had a couple of days like that too. Like you, I was SO frustrated. I nearly gave it all up!
I can't really tell you what I did, just perseverance really. Plus the fact that I never stopped smoking normal cigs entirely.
I blew, I washed and dried the filling and started again with everything fresh. Still didn't happen. I didn't know whether I was flooding or vaping too dry. I couldn't get it right.
I left it all overnight, swapped and changed atties, filling, carts again and again. I pulled the stuffing up, I pushed it down. I took it out and dripped a couple more drops in a bare one, then put the filling back in. I even tried dripping a couple drops onto the attie. I had mouthfuls of juice and a constantly yukkie piece of kitchen roll next to me.
Eventually it all seemed to come right.
I have had the best few days recently, which is why I've been a bit quiet. (Don't want to rock the boat!)
I decided to try using a bit of the blue filler again, not a lot, a single layer. An LR attie from Eastmall. And my Riva. (I've not even tried my new Tornado yet!) I have to refill 3/4 drops every half hour or so, but I've been having the best vape. I've not changed atties/filler for about 3 days.

I found the gunk on the atties I ordered from TW are vile. I posted on a thread about it at the time, but can't remember which one now. It affected my lips and mouth, I couldn't taste anything else, let alone the vaping. Also a numbness. The ones I have from Eastmall (LR) are fantastic and were easy to "break in".

So which but of the following did I say wrongly? Email sent to TECC yesterday -
Non working charger. Hi there, I recently placed an order, which arrived today. Order number 25434. However, the charger in the titanium Tornado kit does not appear to work. The other one in the red kit is fine. We have checked the fuses and these are fine. The cable is ok also. Please advise. Regards Kath Hudson
I received this response -
Dear Kath I am sorry that you have a problem so soon .I take it that you need a new red tornado battery is that correct. If yes I will get that out to you with a SAE to return the faulty one. regards Gillian
I have emailed back - Hi Gillian, No, that is NOT correct! I need a new Tornado charger. (Not the cable.) Kath
We will see.......

I've only just seen this thread - could have advised earlier if I had seen it. I got my two Tornado kits yesterday and luckily found the adaptors straight away as we could hear a rattle from the cone area! I believe everything is interchangeable, for charging. The Tornado doesn't come with a USB charger, just the mains.

I bought two Tornado kits in the sale, one for me, one for him. Just because I am used to the Riva and don't want to have too many different items. Only thing is the charger in "his" kit is not working, so I've just emailed them.

Here is a tip for you - I've just this minute put colour on my hair. (Grey showing too much!) And it dawned on me that the little plastic container that the latex gloves come in is just the right size for carrying half a dozen atties and/or filled carts. The plastic container is the same as those found inside a kinder egg, only see through. I can even put a couple of bits of filler and a paper clip in as well!
