I'm now using mainly claptons, light gauges, so not huge builds requiring loads of power. All my subtanks & RDAs are on claptons now, haven't recoiled in a long time. Just dry burn and run under a tap for a few seconds & they're good to wick & go.

I have a few TC mods, including 2 DNA200s, & when properly fettled they work really well. However, it's a PITA to have to recoil so frequently, especially with Nickel. I have subsequently changed back to Kanthal, usually claptons, that just need a quick burn, rinse and re-wicked to be as good as new.
My tank & RDA coils now last months & it's a doddle to give them a bit of a refresh.

How have you got the airflow set? In my experience flavour suffers if you have lots of air and are taking huge lung inhales. Maybe try reducing the air a bit? I tend to run mine with tape stuck over two of the holes. Having said all that, this type of tank will never be a flavour machine IMHO.

Thought I would resurrect this thread with a bit of an update. Since my last post here we have done another 30 rides or so. Not doing great distances, mainly because it's very hilly & I still have to stop to get my breath from time to time. However, we have managed a few 30k plus rides, albeit with plenty of stops for coffee & a breather. Invested in a couple of nice road bikes & a really good bike GPS & heart rate monitor that allows us to record our rides & some fitness stats. We're blessed with pretty good weather most of the year, so are able to get out on the bikes 3-4 times a week. There is a noticeable improvement in our ability to get up hills, or at least to get further up the hill than last time, after almost every ride. For me, at 60, having stopped smoking after 44 years I'm completely blown away by the body's ability to recover, albeit slowly, from 60 years of abuse & neglect. Feeling really inspired to keep this up for the long term, we're both losing weight, getting fitter & getting out of the house & into the countryside. I have managed to avoid the lycra so far, but if I can lose another stone & won't look like Max Wall (according to my wife) quite so much, I might be tempted Stopping smoking through vaping has opened so many doors that I thought were closed forever. We are actually enjoying exercising for the sake of it, the mental & physical sense of wellbeing after a good ride gives us both quite a buzz & we want more. All of this improvement in lifestyle is down to vaping, it confirms to us that it's never too late to do something about your fitness & stopping smoking is just the first step in another journey

Try using a bent paper clip to pull the rba cap up the tube, put a small L in the paper clip and hook it under.

A quick follow up to my original post. My kids (all in their thirties) have just been over to stay for a while & enjoy the Algarve weather. The two youngest (both girls) do triathlons, and my son does a lot of mountain biking, so basically they are all very fit. They spotted an organised day trip on mountain bikes, about 32 kilometres, some of it down what passes for a mountain over here. The downhill bits were great fun, but they hadn't quite described the uphill portions quite so accurately. Cutting a long story short, I made it, just. Found it very tough at times up the hills, but with a little rest managed to keep going. I seriously thought, just six months ago that I could never in a million years have managed a trip like that. Now feeling really inspired by my improvement in breathing, all down to vaping and getting off the stinkies. I'm 60 years old and my wife and I have just bought a couple of second hand mountain bikes. Started on a few local hills, and whilst they are very tough for me, I can genuinely feel an improvement in my fitness after every trip. Really looking forward to getting some nice trails done this winter

I've had one a few months now, works well as a VW mod, & for me the temp control is fine. I like it a lot

Last week we had a couple that we've never met before come round to the house to pick something up. They walked past my PC station which is surrounded by my mods & juice bottles & expressed some curiosity. I'll cut a long story short here, they were both smokers, what should have been a five minute pickup, turned into three hours of playing with mods, tasting juices and drinking tea. They left clutching a list of decent kit & where to buy it. A few days later the husband confirmed that he had bought some kit & was happily vaping away, & had only had a couple of roll ups. The wife said at the time that she didn't want to give up yet, but didn't feel the need to smoke while she was here vaping. They have joined my FB group, so hopefully I will be able to give them some ongoing support. I should add that my wife worked in a senior position in smoking cessation before retiring, we can both support quitting smokers, her with the psychology & physiology, me with the vaping. We are hoping to set up a "quit through vaping" service for expats. Free of charge, nothing commercial, it will give us something to do. We should be talking to an Algarve magazine editor soon to get something set up. I'm sure many many of you have "converted" smokers, but wanted to share, it's a great feeling

Just had this shared on my FB page: leave.eu/en/news/2015-10-15/the-lifesaving-innovation-helping-smokers-quit-hampered-by-overzealous-eu-regulationEssentially, it's the leave EU campaign using the TPD as a good reason that all vapers should vote to leave the EU. I have been an expatriate since 1990, having spent 21 of the last 25 years abroad, first living in France & now Portugal. I like the idea of the EU & would have said that I was a committed European. However, the TPD does make me reflect on the question of UK membership, although I am not so sure that the TPD would change very much, even if we left. Dr Farsalinos suggested in a recent discussion of the TPD that the EU needs a massive shake up to prevent much of the self serving bureaucracy. Maybe it will take a couple of countries expressing their wish to leave to do that, the UK & Poland might be the start of an exodus? What do you think?
