Greg you have woken me from my slumber... so both you and jtc are the reason that us OAPs are not able to live the life we want, because you decide to take weeks off over Xmas and sit on your a** gorging yourselves, instead of paying into our fund! Seriously, to those that believe, have a wonderful Xmas, and to those that are not so sure... enjoy it anyway. Let us all hope that 2017 is far, far better than the one we've just experienced.

jayjay ... welcome back. I recall a 'run in' about something, can't remember what, so it couldn't have been important Hope you and family are well... I still talk jibberish and nothing to do with vaping

That's one of the problems of getting old, all those that we grew up with are normally older than us, so end up going while we are still here, RIP Agreed Bob . but not by much, which is also a worry! I've still got the above clip playing, and it's playing different artists from the time, listening now to the King... where's my personal Tardis so that I can go back.

Wow, I had quite a reaction / shock when I saw this tonight. We all associate times in our lives with certain figures and music, especially in our youth, and Bobby Vee was a major 'memory jerker' to my teens. I must have worn out his records on the local cafe's jukebox. All of my favourites are going, or have gone RIP Bobby, and thanks

striker42 & yahoo2u2 ... I'm assuming it's your way of telling me I'm an old 'fossil' Hilda & Stan Ogden with Eddie Yeats (or Vernon Scripps from Heartbeat if that's more recent for you)
Amos Brearly & Annie Sugden from the original Emmerdale Farm when the worst thing that happened was they lost their wellies in a bog! You'll have me believing you've never heard of 'The Appleyards' or 'The Grove Family' next

I know I'm a hypocrite, but I had to watch the two soaps tonight, and now I'm hiding all sharp instruments in the house! Plus I'm checking my car insurance premium, because the number of vehicles destroyed must have had an effect.

I know it's sad to be even making comments about 'soaps'... never got into Eastenders because of it's depressing storylines... nor Hollyoaks, because my heart couldn't stand all the nubile young women who were making love without me! But now, Corrie and Emmerdale have gone into the 'twilight zone'... all trying to get one over each other with bl**dy ridiculous stories and absurd 'action' scenes. What do they do next to top them? A nuclear sub coming up the Manchester Ship Canal to capture Gail? A UFO lands in the Dales and the aliens abduct Paddy to be their President? Come back Hilda & Stan... come back Amos & Annie... Is it any wonder so many think that life is just a cartoon? Just my opinion!

Bobsbeer, It was shortly after this disaster, when my best mate at the time and myself, hired a campervan to tour the UK. We set off from Somerset and went north through Wales and circled the country, not really bothering where we were going, just for the adventure. It was only the first night when we'd had enough driving for the day, found a layby in the dark, not knowing where we were, parked up and settled for the night. Got up in the morning and got out of the van to stretch our legs, and in the daylight, we saw the sight below us and realised where we were. Horrific, and God bless all the victims and their families, whom I imagine have never recovered.

Just got back from camping out at dentist ( I'm going nowhere till you see me ) had X-ray it looked like when they removed my other 2 teeth they Brocken the root of the next tooth, the dentist said it may have to come out I told her crack on then but she said I'm to busy iv goto put up with it for another week. This is going to be hell. I so feel for you minime, backache and toothache are the two, non fatal, but debilitating pains to endure. Your dentist sounds like an 'Angel from Hell'. Wish you well.

... I can only just boil an egg! Can't resist them... Saturday Kitchen Live (not so much since James Martin left), anything on the Food Network channel e.g. Restaurant Impossible etc. They all look so easy, until they come to the part where they use the 26 ingredients that 'we've all got in our food cupboard' , and the 12 pans and 14 gadgets (food processors etc) that we all have to hand, not to mention the mortar and pestle that no decent home is without. Out comes the frozen pizza again!

As I'm approaching a certain age, I've been wallowing in 'memories'. I just hope that they invoke pleasant memories for those of a similar age. And to you youngsters... don't waste a minute of your life... enjoy, BUT be good to others. I've been watching videos on YouTube of places from my youth that I didn't think still existed, purchased photos of places on eBay that I grew up in and thought I'd never see again. I just hope that our grandkids have the same opportunity in this 'sick' world. I could go on with these clips, but I hope you get the idea. You are not alone.
