Someone else was saying this to me the other day, so I know it's not just me, yet it doesn't seem to get mentioned very much, so I thought I'd see what you lovely people would say. This is NOT juice-dependent, battery-dependent, carto/clearo/atomiser dependent. It is a curse that can strike at any time. It doesn't depend on volts, watts, ohms, or any other metric or imperial measure of power, it doesn't depend on the fullness, emptiness, cleanliness, newness or any other aspect of your chosen liquid container. It's the curse of the burning carrier bag. At least, that's what it seems to taste like! You know (I bet you do) - one minute you're contentedly vaping your favourite flavour, the next minute it tastes like someone's lobbed a grenade into your mouth. And a not very pleasantly flavoured one, at that! It can strike at any time, it seems...but, like the elephant in the room, it doesn't seem to get mentioned. So, my question is: am I alone? Why does it happen? has anyone solved the mystery?

It was a Tesco Home shop, rather than a supermarket, dolly, but I know what you mean. I try to avoid shopping at all from late November till late Jan, but sometimes it's got to be done....Luckily the lady in the wheelchair was obviously an expert driver. I was impressed!

In a strange coincidence, I was almost taken out in Tesco earlier today by a wheelchair user. I was bending down close to the end of an aisle, looking at something on the bottom shelf, when the wheelchair came whizzing round the corner and did an emergency stop, millimetres from my kneeling body. We laughed. It could have been worse!

I've always brought my (now grown-up) kids up to be polite and consider other people. And they do, I'm very pleased and proud to say. However, they both look a lot like most others of their age (early 20's) and it can sometimes be funny to see the reactions of others.
I was shopping with my eldest a few years back, when a wheelchair user was trying to get out of a shop and the automatic doors were broken. We were waiting outside on the pavement, and my son rushed across from where he was standing, opened both of the big doors, and held one of them so the person in the wheelchair could get through. And they DID get through, and sailed past as if my son was some sort of unpaid doorman, without even making eye contact, let alone saying thank you. And it wasn't just the person IN the wheelchair, there was someone pushing them as well. They both managed to say nothing.
Other son has had similar experiences.
Some people treat wheelchair users appallingly. Some wheelchair users behave appallingly.

Their Facebook page appears to have crashed (or been locked) under the weight of adverse comment from all over the world.

1500 litres a day is about right, I measured our a few years back and over a week we used roughtly 1300 a day for 3 of us. Apparently, the average daily usage is around 150 (not 1500) litres per person. If you're using 1300 a day between 3, that's about three times what the average person uses.

I haven't gone back too far, but the articles to which the OP relates can be found online as far back as July. Clearly, the EU, if they are "poised", have been poised for quite a few months now. Yet nothing seems to be happening. My glass is at least half full.

What is this throat hit of which you speak? I'm not sure I ever experienced it. The highest nic I've ever vaped is 10 mg and I only bought that because someone suggested I might need it. I guess it depends on so many different things, but I've been vaping zero nic and/or 5mg (depending on whether it's my own homebrew or stuff I've bought) for the last 10 days or so, and before that it was all 5-6 mg. I've only been vaping for just under 3 months. I must be lucky, as it doesn't seem to be a problem. But then, I don't obsess about nicotine. For me, vaping was (and is) about not smoking. It's not about finding-something-that-means-I-can-still-have-nicotine. Little by little, I'm also finding I can go for long periods without even needing to vape at all. However, that really is the part I'm not stressing about. If I vape non-stop all day it really doesn't matter to me. I guess we're all different, and you have to find what's right for you and stick with it. As most people say, though, there's no shame, no harm and no problem in upping your nicotine levels if you find you're getting cravings. It's easy to drop back down or go back up, and as long as you have a couple or three nic levels to choose from, and you feel comfortable with what you're doing, then that's what's really important.

Liquid Stevia might be OK. I bought some actual sweetener tablets specifically made for drinks and they're pants. They don't dissolve and disperse through the drink but sort of froth on the surface and no amount of stirring and waiting seems to help. You always end up with one mouthful of sickeningly sweet tea or coffee at some point and the rest of your drink tastes as though you haven't sweetened it at all. BeurK!
