I had it all figured out till I started messing around with the heatflux colour chart thingy. djs Im fixing to get a single coil of around .9 to an ohm maybe a smidge lower depending on the ramp up. I ordered AWG 27 (.36mm) SS, my never ending spool of kanthal is .32 so i went slightly higher for the SS. Perfect. You can let me know what you find out.... |

Yes I have been on steam engine to look see. Yes it did go straight over my head. I've been messing around with the steam engine calculator. I want to turn all my RDAs into SS builds. It's doing my head in. Do I know how long my legs are? You've got to be kidding. All I want is two nice coils in the 0.8 to 0.9 range... to make a nice 0.4 ish build. I can't see any problem with using SS with your mod. If you work it out let me know. At the moment 28 AWG is the winner I think. But I'm not sure...  |

So I have a Subtank Nano? clone winging it's way to me from TJ and I've settled on getting an iLeaf iStick in the near future. That should satisfy my cravings for a while  Good news. Unless you are craving more clouds and toys, IMO the best tanks to buy with a steady supply of coils from China is Eleaf GS tank (22mm), Eleaf GS Air, Eleaf GS Air "M" (original or styled)..... with the 1.2ohm atomizers. Nobody mentions these, but my disciples are many and wide-spread. World domination will surely follow.  |

Rather than starting another thread, can I please ask a different question about the Nautilus? I'm using "home brew" RA in my Nautilus at around 70% VG and was guessing the VG ratio was a bit high and was thinking of mixing some new juice at around 70% PG. I then did a google search and found people saying they were happily using 80-90% VG quite happily in a Nautilus..... Any thoughts on optimum ratios would be VERY welcome :-) I can only speak as I find, because the numbers vary greatly around the world with user experience. The most trouble I ever had with BVC coils was trying to get close to 15w with 70% VG. You don't need to go as drastic as 70% PG i.m.o. but I have seen 17 or even 18 watts on high PG. I run my 50/50 mixes at 14.5w. This sounds pedantic, but I have ruined a coil on 15w with homemade liquids. Of course, so much depends on the length of your puff/draw. The exact nature of your liquids (coil gunking) and the frequency of puffs per minute etc. I don't doubt people say they run high (or even MAX VG) at high-ish power, but I suspect everyone toots in their own time. A 10-puff vape lasts me less than 1/2 a skinny roll-up so I feel that is fast-ish vaping. If I was to advise honestly, the loss of vapor by going 70% PG is noticeable. It's not worth chasing those extra watts (15-18) with 'stealth PG' ratios. |

I have some Nichrome bought from ecigwizard (wash my mouth out...)
I hate the stuff. Never got the resistance I wanted... always came out too high.
(Back in the days of aiming for 1.8ohms)

I doubt my spares box contains more than a very few. I guess the last 'run' of them were vaped in a carto tanks (probably that £13 AGR+?) from Vapegear. Not many plans to go back. Pretty nice up to about 9 watts on an EVIC or SID. |

actually that's a long way out, 0.6 on dual coils would be 1.2ohms on a single. what diameter wire are you making coils with? Yeah, sorry, 0.6 was single coil difference, but only in the worst instance. I'm not that worried about it, as it hardly makes much difference at all. I just wondered why I only get that anomaly with Kanthal. Maybe you got some Friday Kanthal.... made by a crazy-arsed machine that is on the blink. I know what you mean though.... |

According to some stuff I've seen 6mg has such a low physical impact that, if the Nic was withdrawn without me knowing it, I probably wouldn't notice the difference (I don't really believe this....). I think am beginning to believe this. Rather than jumping up in power (permanently) every time I drop a level I start at more watts then gradually back off in power. Today, I vaped 4.8mg at my 'old' 12mg power which is 14 watts MTL give or take. I'm hardly noticing not vaping now. I feel a calmness and self-belief starting to take effect. |
