I know the answer to the first part of the question Scylla - that's a 'yes' Until last night, when I nearly broke some teeth trying to remove a 901 cart from a 510 atty, I had not realised there was a difference between the two atty sizes. However, looking on several sites, the drip tips seem to have a rubber washer around them - I wonder if it is this that allows it to fit both atties? I found a video about them

I'm not that good at cleaning my devices, bar a quick wipe with a tissue or an occasional scrape out with a toothpick, but what about trying an old fashioned pipe cleaner?

I think that is a perfect place for them Chrissie. I think we could have probably pulled together our own guides, but we may as well make use of Sandra's as she is happy with that.
Update: I have added the first two guides, Choosing and Cleaning. There are others but I don't know how many you would like here? I thought the 'Where next - how to get more vapour' would be useful, but could this be information overload? I have let Sandra know I have added them.

I have now registered as an affiliate so have my own code (imaginatively, it's 'Jaki') but I still give out Scott's code to my friends as his gives the biggest discount and I want them to get the best out of their purchase!

Lolli, please don't beat yourself up over it. You are smoking less than you were and that is a bonus in itself. Would you really have just cut down the number of cigs if you weren't vaping?
You have made some really positive steps, not least posting about your struggles!
Almost all my juices are 36mg, and if they are less, I just chain vape to make up for it. And there are days that i would love a cig, but I know I don't enjoy the taste of them any more (still love the smell of a freshly opened packet or freshly lit cig though).
Perhaps you just need to keep going with the small steps you are taking - you are already replacing some cigs each day - try to replace a few more, but just take it one at a time - consider it a cigarette diet!
I wish there was something more I could do to help you. I have a huge range of juice flavours and I am more than happy to send you some to try, or a LR atty to go on your SD - it does make a difference.
Don't give up giving up, and don't forget we are always here if you need us

It comes pre-cut to fit 901 and 510 carts (possibly others, but they are the ones I use) I used to use a whole piece and cram it in, but now I cut it in half. It costs 75c for a bag of ten (so chops into 20 bits) and postage is free if you spend over $10. I fill my cart 3/4 full and pop it in the top, then top off with a few drops of liquid. It lasts for ages without needing to be topped up and you can all but vape it dry strictlyejuice.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_49&products_id=222&zenid=9o2m0pej6e58109a6c4li76ic1Have a look and PM me your address if you want to try some. All I have to do is find it.......

Kath, I have some of the pre-cut blue foam filler from the states if you'd like to try some. I cut it in half and it vapes practically dry, is easily washed and the best filler I have tried. It's also dirt cheap, although takes around 3 weeks to get here!
Send me a PM if you fancy trying a few bits (or anyone else for that matter)

Another thought lolli - are you vaping tobacco flavours? I've just started a new tobacco flavour (Silver Vanacco) and it reminds me of smoking - it doesn't quite taste like a cigarette, but the taste left in my mouth reminds me of smoking more than the other flavours.
So, I am wondering if you are vaping juice that tastes even a bit like tobacco, perhaps that is what is making you want a real cig? If you go to a flavour that is completely removed from tobacco taste then you may lose the association, vaping will not remind you of smoking and your desire for a real cig could be lessened.
I've just realised that is the complete opposite view to that of Ragjoy's!

Hi Lolli
I'm glad you posted this as it could be so helpful for not just yourself but other members too. I would love to hear about how Raggy's wife is coping too
I have to agree with the others Lolli. Whatever you're vaping right now is clearly not 'doing it' for you, although it's not as if you are not trying! You probably need something to pack more of a punch.
Which device are you using? Is it just the regular 510? If so, it possibly isn't 'man enough' for you. I know I get frustrated even with my Riva and LR atties. I seem to recall you have a screwdriver too. Have you tried a LR attie on that? I bought some LR 901 atties and it transformed my SD. I've used the 901 atties but I do have some new 510 LR atties if that's the correct fitting - I could send you one to try if you like?
Do you find the passthrough to be more satisfying? In theory that is 5volt, so the LR atty would be pretty much replicating that.
Are you using the strongest nicotine? I know a member who sold all his vaping gear because it wasn't working for him - it turned out he was trying to replace a 60 a day habit with low nic!
Perhaps you could try combining the e-cig with another method of giving up. Alan Carr is supposed to be good, or what about the NHS counselling route? I'm not overly convinced either are all that successful, but may be worth a try.
Or, just as Dee suggests, get really tough and dump/hide your cigs so that you take temptation out of the way. That way you can't have both and you just have to ignore the longing, but make sure you are a strong device and high nic. A mate of mine put hers in the loft so they were a real pain in the patootie to get down.

I've spoken to Sandra, who wrote the beginners guide on the LF forum, and she is happy for me to copy them over here providing I credit them to her and add her affiliate code, so she stands a chance of making something out of her hard work.
Personally I feel that is quite reasonable, but what do you think Scylla? The guides are really good for new vapers and I think we would benefit from having them over here

I'm pleased yours is working fine Dee - now you just have to work out whether it was the charger or the batteries that was not working properly - my money is on the charger.
Hanow, that is fantastic. Isn't it great to be free of the 'hold' that cigs have over you?
I'm pleased Judy has hers up and running too. There is a great post (well, 6 actually) on the LF forum that I might ask if I can copy over here. It is a step by step guide to starting vaping. It would be nice to add it to our little reference library

On your quest for more information, check out Kate's site vapersnetwork.org/. She has worked tirelessly toward the campaign and started the main petition that we handed in to Downing Street earlier this month. She gathers all the latest news and reports and posts it on her site. I hope you have a couple of days to spare
