Lovely, thanks Kath
Dee, I have ordered 5 packs of LR atties between my pal and I - If you are interested in LR, you are welcome to one of my packs. 20 between us will keep us going for ages.
Scylla - I have also ordered 3 packs of LR 901, so rather than Chrissie give you two, have one from each of us as I am using 501s as well.
I am a confirmed shopaholic (holocaust shopper my mum calls me) and always buy far more than I need - you only need peek into my kitchen cupboards to see that!

Hanow, that sounds like a nightmare bringing your poor dog back and I admire your tenacity. So pleased they are both doing well. It's amazing how a bit of love and care can completely turn an animal around
Scylla - is that a pedigree or a poorly cat?

Hi and welcome Beeper
I never smoked rollies, only tailor mades, but I am a member of the Riva fan club!
If you do decide to buy one, don't forget the 15% discount with the code ECR69.
With regard to different flavours, that is really down to personal taste. From what I have read, everyone new to e-cigs wants a tobacco flavour (as I did when I started), so that would be a good place to start, but once you are used to it, you'll find that trying new and different flavours is just one of the brilliant things about vaping. If you smoke with menthol filters, or enjoy menthol ciggies, then menthol is definitely the way to go.
With regard to strength, I personally prefer the stronger liquids - over 24mg at least, but I generally tend to go with the 32 or 36mg. This should give you the nicotine hit you need and make the transition from smoking to vaping a lot easier.
To be honest, when you start it is all a bit of trial and error, although getting yourself a good e-cig (which the Riva is) will make life a lot easier, then it is just experimenting with flavours and strengths
Good luck

I thought I would share my furbabies story with you all. About 6 years ago we adopted a 1 year old ex-feral cat (Ruby) and an enormous 6 year old male tabby - Max. We lost our lovely Ruby last summer - just found her dead in the garden About a month after her death, I went to collect some rent from one of our tenants and instead of the no pet policy we have on our properties, I found a dog, cat and 4 kittens. The tenant was fairly brutal and should never be allowed to keep pets so I persuaded him to let me take the remaining unhomed kitten home with me. Somehow Hamish came through it unscathed and is the most loving cat. He actually thinks he is a scarf and spends most of his time around my neck, when he can get away with it! The tenant then moved out and it took us days to clean the house. Whilst cleaning my friend and I heard the most pathetic mewing from a tiny kitten in the garden. The weather was dreadful at the time and she was living under mountains of rubbish in the neighbour's garden - we were worried she would drown. The tenant had managed to smash a hole in the back door and this little kitten had been coming into the house to find leftover food. After a few days she she got used to creeping in after we went home for the evening and we eventually found her curled in our Henry the Hoover bag. Needless to say, she is now at home with us! It took her a long time to settle in and even now she is still extremely nervous and much more an outdoor cat, and I am convinced she was born a feral kitten, although there was no mum around when we found her. She is still a very small cat and still exhibits puddning and sucking behaviour on her favourite blanket, which she can make quite soggy within minutes. They both adore Max, and he tolerates them fairly well, although isn't so keen when they snuggle up with him! In the photo they are in Max's bed, which he overhangs! Hamish at the back, Aggie at the front

Hello and welcome Ken
There are plenty of vapers who have smoked for as long as you have Ken and have successfully switched to e-cigs. Even if you just cut down on the real ones, that is a huge bonus.
Cloud9 are a fantastic company to order from, I'm sure you won't be disappointed, and Lisa gives fantastic customer service. I do know of a company in Cyprus who have good postal rates if you find the postage a bit too much in the future
Good luck with your foray into vaping and I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do.

Kath, I am happy for you to order whenever, I'm not in dire need of anything right now. However, previous experience with trying to order from Amy shows that stuff goes out of stock overnight, but I am happy to add to a future order too.
Does that make sense? birthday wine may be getting the better of me.......

Sorry Hanow, I'll try to explain without causing further confusion, not that I am very technical and barely understand it myself!
LR stands for Low Resistance. It basically means that the less resistance an atomiser gives, the more energy will be drawn from the battery through the atomiser, providing a stronger vape with more vapour and a stronger throat hit. These turn vaping with a 3.7 battery (which you have now) into something that performs like a 5v battery
There are disadvantages (of course!). The LR atties are said not to last so long, or at least, the performance drops off quicker than the regular (HR, High Resistance) atties. They also drain the battery faster, although I am using them on my Riva and I still get 8 hours plus from them. You should not use them on a high voltage device as it will kill them pretty fast.
BUT, they provide a stronger and more satisfying vape and for me, this outweighs any disadvantages.
I hope that helps

I think you might need to look at buying the LR atties Hanow. I agree about the ENjuice having great flavour, but I too find that only the strong tobacco or café tabac give me a noticeable throat hit. Yesterday I was vaping using 2 Riva batteries - one with the cone and a LR atty and one without but with a regular HR atty, and there was a huge difference. The other thing I would recommend to both yourself and Kath is to invest in a Gary Dibley passthrough www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=58. When plugged into your computer, portable power unit or a mains USB port, this is a high voltage (around 5v) reliable device that I find sorts out those days when nothing else works for me. It can be tough getting things to work well for you, but don't forget, you have taken a huge leap after years of smoking, and it may take a while to find the perfect combination that works for you.

I thought of ordering another Riva from Eastmall, but decided that the LF customer service is excellent and their price is pretty much the same as EM. There is a new beautiful shiny e-cig that I am very tempted by www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/the-omega.html and some video of it . I don't own any of Chad's mods, but from what I have heard, they are excellent.

Kath
I checked atties on HealthCabin, Eastmall and Heavengifts and Eastmall are the cheapest on bulk buy atties. I didn't compare any other items though
You weren't wrong to buy when you did. Orders from China can take several weeks to arrive. We also need to be aware that there may be customs charges added when the goods enter the country and everyone adding to the order will be partially responsible for these.

I was just looking at that Chrissie! Their cartomisers (510) are just $1 each - that seems very cheap to me, not that I know anything about cartos, much less used them!
BUT.... If a bunch of us were interested in putting in an order, as you used to for HealthCabin, then it works out very well. For example, 20 LR 510s would work out at £2.50 each, including postage, which is a pretty good saving.
