I wouldn't have started if I had thought it would be more expensive, but then I believed the whole 40 fags to a single cartomiser lies at that point. I haven't broken even yet, but if it became financially prohibitive to vape, I would be cross, cut down, and give it all up. Then go back on the fags a few months later....

Order some evods and keep the t3's as spare. Im guessing he is on about cotton from cotton wool pads etc. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 He guesses right, I nick them from my wife's make-up remover pads. I prefer my T3 to my Evod, but I'm still pretty sure mine needs work, as everyone else here loves them. Also, my 3 quid nova from fasttech is now really very good, so cheapness continues.

I found if you yank out the wick and replace it with cotton instead, it works much better, i have 2 I've done like this and they're great

Bit of vodka and a tissue, means you can have a little drink at the same time.

The Turkish burns all the way down like a week old pouch of Drum robby. Which is good, reminds me of the old days.

I pushed the grommet out with a screwdriver and sliced a bit of the end off with a stanley knife. The grommet is a bit buggered and perished, but no liquid should go down that bit anyway, so I shoved it all back together and it seems to work. Yay. I also got bottles of liqua turkish and traditional tobacco flavours, and they are quite difficult to tell the difference between, but both are a bit more like proper fags than most of the other liquids I've tried, so they are now my go-to flavours for a night of drinking

Robby. Do you know whether the fasttech ego-t batteries are up to snuff? Was thinking of getting 3 of the 1300mAh variety to take abroad on my hols I've just got two of them this week, 1100mah so far so good (but then I've only just put the first one going in the last hour) will keep you posted. They are branded bydtech btw.

Just seen the posts about the grommet covering the air holes. One of my novas had an off-centre post, which I thought was a bit odd, took the post and grommet out, the grommet in there is deformed (looks like its twisted and folded one side when it was being formed, so the rubber has a lump in it one one side) meaning that when I push the post in further, the post is touching the outside of the centre tube, where the threads are - unusable. The other nova is giving me the same issue as Dave Vader, no matter how far I push it up, it still covers the airhole. I did manage to get a tiny bit of air through it, but then it was pushed up so far, it started burning! I think I've just been unlucky here! I am going to take the grommet out and slice the end off with a stanley knife. Hopefully this should solve it. If I can get it out, I did try a firm push on a flat surface robby but to no avail, I even took the whole bottom off and stuck it in a vice, also didn't work, then I took out the centre post and used various pokey things to try and shove it down. Still nothing, will try and get the whole grommet out and slice it up when I get a minute. And that CE5 that @simate linked to is the right one, but those heads won't fit it, the whole system is weird, and does seem to manage wicking all the way down past the holes. Very strange, but good.

Grommet on my nova doesn't go any further, and covers the airhole. Haven't put any juice in it to try it yet. The other CE5 is good though, spring loaded end, weird internal wicky thing and vapes lovely. Will have to come up with a better solution for the nova grommet later. Oh, Ego batteries also seem good, which is lucky as my 2 rivas are now starting to reach full charge disturbingly quickly.

Got my fasttech order through today, pretty quick really. Nova looks ok, batteries seem to work, and I also got one of these www.fasttech.com/products/0/10002095/1151101-ce5-electronic-cigarettes-round-mouth-atomizerThat I still have no idea how it works, but it seems ok. And was only 1.50 so I'm not bothered if it breaks. Looking forward to having a go with the juices and the nova later. Centre posts seem to push themselves in when you screw them onto a battery, so might be springy.

Oh, so if I yank out that top bit of wick I might actually get a decent hit out of the thing? I'm still terribly disappointed by my Evod, I cleaned it at the weekend, and replaced the top bit of wick with a bit of cotton wool (like I do with most clearos to stop leakiness) and it's still rubbish. Does it not leak without the top wick? Well it worked for me, the difference is day & night and no it hasn't leaked once. Have you actually rewicked it yet or are you still using the original wick and coil? I also blocked up 2 of the air holes with candle was to make the draw tighter. I haven't rewicked (never recoil stuff) it has the original wick and coil (minus the top bit, which went on the first clean and dryburn, got replaced with cotton) and I've blocked two holes with blu tack, and I'm still getting very little hit until the blue button flashes on my riva. maybe it likes higher voltage? Maybe it's too high an ohmage? Maybe i just got a crappy one? Loads of vapour, but none of it seems to "hit" if you know what i mean.

I have only had my evods for a few days. I rewicked one the next day with 3mm wick and 5 turns of 0.20 kanthal which made a 1.6ohm coil. Go with 6 turns and you should get around the 2.0ohms mark. I did put a small piece of wick on top of the coil like the original but removed it today and the difference in flavour and throat hit is huge. Oh, so if I yank out that top bit of wick I might actually get a decent hit out of the thing? Several, but my favourite is still my old habit of chucking cig-a-likes out of the car window. Lost a few that way.
