Have you had a look at LT eCigs? I use them a lot (no connection with them) and they are good quality and reasonably priced with reliable, friendly service. Just another option for you, anyway.

Yes, a marvellous product. My purple one is still as good as the day I got it. The coating has a slightly rubbery feel to it, as if it is a rubberised sleeve rather than paint or powder-coating. Anyway, it's a very good item!

Seeing how old mother EU in her wisdom wants to kill off our hobby, nay, lifestyle, I decided to buy in some stuff to future-proof myself as far as possible. Big bottles of base liquid duly arrived on my doorstep, plus my first proper rebuildable. After lots of research (thanks to AAEC for most of it) I got VapeGeek's Hcigar Kayfun 3.1 clone in stainless steel. A few minutes to clean it and sort out a coil, filled up with Kent, span my faithful old Spinner up to max... fantastic. Been vaping a year now and the Kayfun takes it up to the next level.
I'm sitting in a cloud of fragrant vapour, got trance music on the Internet radio, head already spinning! Might have to reduce from 18 to 12mg nic mixes now. Looking out for an old laptop battery to scavenge some 18650s, too.

Yes, sadly I think that many perfectly viable little businesses could be killed off by the TPD, as DiscoDes says. It's a terrible shame. These people have invested their money and a lot of hard work in their businesses, whether B&M or Online, and now old mother EU is going to make life very difficult for them. The best customer service I've ever had has been from vape vendors, real people who work hard and care about their customers. Like I said, it's a real shame

+1 for iClear16 from me. They are thirsty, but they produce lots of vapour and are quite durable. It's true that they are warm to vape, but that suits me quite well.

I'm a bit late to the party, but I wanted to mention that pipe bowls can only house an 18350 battery. An 18500 is about 50mm long and 18650s are 65mm long. (The battery name is rather crude - no more than its dimensions, with a 0 on the end. An 18350 is 18mm wide and 35mm long.) So why it states that it can take the bigger sizes is rather a puzzle. Anyone able to throw some light on this?

Hello drifter and welcome to the friendly AAEC forum.
I agree with Karma, mixing your own is the cheapest way to do it and gives you 100% control too. It's easy to do, even easier with unflavoured. I use LT eCigs for my flavour concentrates as they are cheap and good quality. I've found them to be a very reliable supplier, too. If you are just dipping your toe in the mixing (as it were) then they stock 100ml bottles of bases which would suit your needs. There are cheaper places to buy from if you need larger quantities. By coincidence, I bought LT's Banana WG concentrate last week and it is nice but insanely strong! I had to dilute the finished mix twice.
All the best

stamina Like you I have to eke out my meagre income (I am on benefits )
Please be reassured by what other posters have already said. Charging our batteries costs very little, so small an amount that you can barely detect it with normal meters. I used to work in electronics/IT and have a degree in Electronic Engineering which sadly is rather going to waste now. Even with that background, I have not even bothered to work out the few pennies that charging costs as it is simply not worth getting worried about. A charger going full-blast (which is only during the first phase of charging with a good charger, anyway) will use about 5W or so. In contrast, just running your laptop uses about 40 to 60W and this is similar to turning on a few low-energy lamps (as mentioned in a post above).
Vaping brings me a great deal of comfort and pleasure as I am sure it does for you too. The cost of charging batteries is definitely way below that of buying the kit and the ingredients for mixing eliquid, so for economy I have focussed on these. I am still using the first really satisfactory kit that I bought, with iClear16s that last for ages and I have bought spare coils for them instead of shiny new stuff. They use a fair bit of juice, but I have bought some decent-sized bottles of base liquids so it works out very cheap per ml of mixed juice. I get my concentrates from LT eCigs because they are good quality and only £2 to £3 for 10ml. The electricity costs are insignificant - just enjoy your vaping!
All the best

Hey @purple1234
It's an original Protank, the one on which you can't change the drip tip. Yes, my own coils with silica wick as it seems to tolerate a fair bit of dry-burning after cleaning. Without a strip of "flavour wick" over the top this time. It does taste ok for some flavours, but I've been using just iClears for a while.
How does the Protank 2 compare to the original?

Well, I mixed some Kent up and thought I'd try it in my Protank 1 because it fouls up the coils so fast in iClears16s. What a disaster! I tried a couple of different coils in the Protank, tried different voltages... absolute rubbish. It just did not come close to the iClear experience. Yes, there's vapour. And there's flavour. Sort of. I suppose I should be grateful that the Protank is lighter on juice consumption (though not much, as I was drawing longer to get a hit).
Have I been spoilt by the iClear16s?
???
Maybe I've got used to the warmer vape, the clouds of tasty vapour, the fast warm-up... I think I'll put the Protank aside to use for the one or two tank-cracker flavours left in my box.

Early on in my vaping (nearly a whole year ago) I got some RY4 concentrate from LT eCigs whilst ordering other stuff, just to see what all the fuss was about. In the event, I really liked it and used it a lot. I got a second bottle, but that went off after a few weeks. I don't know why, but although I kept it sealed it still lost almost all of its flavour. In the meantime, I was trying other concentrates and I have never bought RY4 since. So I think it is worth a try, but remember that every maker's RY4 is different.
