Anyone can change their own "Display" names Click on your profile, then click the "edit profile" button on the right. Next click on "personal" & just change the display name to whatever you want. Then scroll to the bottom of the page & click on "Save Personal Settings" Don't forget though, your "user" name will always be the the original name that you registered with. Thank you so much for mentioning that, how it looked has been bugging me from day one!

an ego regulates the power too and is no where near a mechanical mod. A true mechanical mod has no wiring at all basically it is a tube with a mechanical switch that when pressed completes circuit making atty fire, there is no power regulation (unless you insert kick I know ) so vape changes as battery loses power Thanks for that, I'd not considered the potential for changes too much, so it's good to know about that in advance! Does it change by very much over the life of the battery charge?

Yes the Ego Battery is protected by the electronics which also regulate the output voltage and the electronics handle the on/off function. Also the electronics turn the device off when the battery voltage becomes low so protecting the battery from over discharge. The Vamo's (or any electronic mod) do the same with some additions: Variable wattage/voltage - the Vamo and many mods have a "boost" circuit that takes the battery voltage (max 4.2V) and can boost it up, that way you can get 6v out of a 4.2v battery. You also get circuitry that can detect and display the battery voltage and resistance of a coil connected to it. Conversely the electronics can cut the voltage so you can get voltages out that are less than 4.2v. They also have protection circuitry that limit the output if a short is detected and will also stop the battery over-discharging. So in making the jump to the Vamo from my first eGo 650mah setup, I missed a little info/step; is it the case that in the eGo the cells would have been protected and as such the mod I am now looking at is simply a different sized version of that set up?Sort of but the Vamo has extra features. I know that due to the 5 on & 5 off feature that it is not strictly a true mechanical mod, but it's very close in my view.To a "purist" a mechanical mod only has 3 elements 1. A battery holder 2. A switch 3. A connector. Not even any wiring! DO NOT apologise for your question! Thanks Des, I was looking at another mod (a Vision Slip), it's a simpler device and much like the eGo in it's approach, just the 5 on and 5 off switch and an 18350 battery really. I liked the idea of adding this to my kit as I have the Vamo for indoors when I have time space and comfort. The eGo has been fine for out and about, but the battery limitations can irritate (not got 100% reliable mains chargers), and I am not a huge fan of the eGo system overall, I like it, but just not a huge fan. I saw this as a way to maybe move to a slightly nicer or perhaps rather more convenient battery system now I have a charger for those. Since it's basically a battery holder and uses separate cells, then it adds up to something along the lines of a semi-rebuildable or user-serviceable battery system in that way. When the cells go down you can replace just them rather than the whole thing. I feel it could be a pretty convenient fit for my lifestyle.

HI all, I was looking into the basics of mods, and on one maker's web site I was looking at a simple mod and read that it is a simple device, and it holds an 18350 battery, has a 510 thread and has a switch. This was a very basic mod indeed. As it features 5 on and 5 off switch then it's very simple, and due to that they suggest using protected 18350s. I already have a Vamo V2 and it says to use unprotected cells only, I gather this is because the cells are "effectively protected" by the Vamo's electronics. So in making the jump to the Vamo from my first eGo 650mah setup, I missed a little info/step; is it the case that in the eGo the cells would have been protected and as such the mod I am now looking at is simply a different sized version of that set up? I've no problem with it either way, but I am trying to make sure I correctly understand details about the styles of these devices. It's been nearly a month since taking my first steps and I have covered a lot of ground already but would now like to review where I have been and try to learn as much as possible about what actually happened over the last 3-4 weeks! I know that due to the 5 on & 5 off feature that it is not strictly a true mechanical mod, but it's very close in my view. Sorry for the newb like question, I felt it better to ask than make a poor assumption.

It is this one Roger. LINKIt tastes nothing like Old Holborn but how I got it cut it is something that an Old Holborn smoker might well like. I used to dry off excess moisture from my baccy and roll using 2 filters, so it was mild, cool and smooth. NB only the excess moisture mind you, was not going crazy with it! This in say an Evod is a bit muted but nice, and in a carto tank it's very nice too! Thanks for that. I do have my tobacco favourites, but am always willing to try another. I am finding the dream is very good for baccy flavours. ETA. Going to try some of their concentrates, but the price of their nic base!!! £40 for 250ml of 36mg, a bit steep. The Dream? Who is that? Yes, nic base is silly money over there as is quite a lot of their stuff given the apparent quality of it when it was delivered. It's just that fluke discovery of the Rolling Holborn that got my interest over there. It's a silky vape as I cut it and it's a bit on the swampy side, but I got to say it's got a rather pleasant smell to it. Hope you find them to your liking, not tried any other flavour there other than their own "rocking raspberry", and that's not all that wonderful it must be noted! I suspect "rocking" is the larger word there, as it can be a bit like I'd imagine swallowing rocks might be!

Which make and model of US Bath was it? 300 I'm not getting one just yet, but could do worse than to start shortlist I guess! This one looks identical www.maplin.co.uk/ultra-7000-ultrasonic-cleaner-223108 but only paid £19:99 from Aldi, quite a few members bought one of these a while back when they had them on special offer. Search Ebay or Gumtree there's normally a few S.H. going cheap. Thanks, found a source for them about £12 cheaper than Maplin too!

Reading the OP to me it seems that Melita is using ready made strawberry flavoured e liquid instead of a flavour concentrate. This is taken from the OP 2 ml Pg e liquid 18 mg ( this is a ready made e liquid which I have bought in strawberry flavour). What do others think. Surely this will just dilute the resulting brew altogether, re TH, vapour and flavour. I could be wrong but that's how I read it Well, yes, that was my take too, however I had that sort of problem once, when trying to rescue some 24mg Rollling Holborn 70/30 pg/vg that was way too harsh for a first timer's vape experience. I cut it 50-50 with VG and oddly got a mix that I am still using and loving; so much so that I am thinking about doing again! It was nothing like the original of course but it did turn out to be rather nice. I'm going to buy the flavouring only (as they actually sell it!) and plan to make it one of my first mixes, getting the right amount of flavouring would no doubt be quite taxing (even if I had their recipe), but a little at a time should see me get there.

Had to repair a Protank this morning as after re wicking one last night it started leaking from where the glass is joined to the base so emptied it wobbled it and the base came away from the glass. Gave it an overnight denture soak, cleaned off excessive glue, put a run of Superglue on the glass pushed it back together job done. Dave Gosh, was it very old? ??? I had become lulled into feeling the Protank was somewhat invulnerable. Clearly worth having a spare on hand in case of things like this I guess.

All useful stuff, as I have just bought one to try out. I know there are videos to be watched, but has anyone had any experience of recoiling a Kanger head? Any tips or tricks - is it as easy as a Nova head, for instance? Andy Personally I think the video covering rewicking and recoiling a kanger long reach head from vapor lady lounge is the best one I have seen. She makes a tidy job of it, tweaks the original set up and covers it in enough depth for one to come away truly understanding what is needed! An even tidier and more detailed job than PB made of it! (which is saying something!) LINK
I hope it helps!

Well, first part is done, followed Dragon's advice and grabbed a whole bunch of bottles I spotted on Amazon. Amber glass, glass droppers, 10x10, 5x30 and 5x100 ml. That should cover most things for quite a while to come I think! If you like your glass bottles (as do I), you could always check out these guys. Very good they are, but you have to get a fair few to justify the P&P I always find myself in need of more 10ml bottles for those first experimental mixes! I only make 30ml of ones that turn out nice Jen, have you ordered from those bottle chaps before? I was wondering what they are like to deal with. I see some aluminium bottle caps there and need some so was wondering how they might be with such a small order, say 25 of them. ???
