Hi folks, I don't get on the board much theses days (longish and no doubt boring story), but I just wanted to make sure I told you that I wish for you all that you have exactly the sort of seasonal break you would wish for yourselves. I want you all to have a simply perfect one! Thank you all so much for helping me get me going with all this; it's been a wonderful and interesting 6 month journey. Here's hoping for an even better year for all in 2014!

Ok, so time for some advice please, I gave this a go at the weekend and initially when I checked it on my Vamo it came out to 1.6ohms then when I test fired it it dropped to 1ohm which was too low for the Vamo to fire. This was both dry and with eliquid on. I figured I needed to test fire it to ensure I had good glow on the coils. I noticed the kanthal glow up the positive leg and it dropped almost as it reached the SS mesh I think that is what is known as having a hot spot. Try some of Todd's videos on you tube, he doesn't quite explain it all, but he covers a lot of it. Hope it helps. ok, he's not working with protanks, but it does cover some of the carry on with coils. Hopefully someone else will know a lot more and rescue us both soon!

I guess jimthecarper is ok, as he has probably got full wet weather gear for fishing, but it really makes mine leak juice onto the centre pin! LOL That bit is not quite so good! Hmmm.... LOL

Did you fold over the end of the mesh or just roll it straight up? Figure it's easier to ask you if you have done it rather than making the mistake myself! And did you use a flavour wick? I know Jim said he didn't but interesting to see any different views Well, being a left over stub from RSST wicking, I had to just roll it a little harder to tighten, around a pin as I said! If doing from scratch I roll them around a suitable former, like a needle or something, drill bit even, just to get it started, then roll it in between thumbs and fingers to tighten it. Can't believe I'm telling you this, I did not know what vaping was 10-11 weeks ago! LOL I did it as Jim explained above, not a straw but left a small hole in middle. Hope it helps & good luck.

Just reading a post where someone is struggling with an AGA-T on SS mesh. Lets face it we've all been there. An alternative, and an easy way into vaping on SS mesh is to do a Protank. I love my Genesis style atties but they’re bloody impractical. Big, clumsy, heavy and not the sort of thing I can have flying around the van during the day. I've been playing around with SS wicks on some of the Kanger range, and just done a Protank. Thought I'd post some pics. I'm so glad you posted this one, thank you so much; I read it this morning, and tried it just now, first one was a bit poor (1.8) and never panned out, but second one I went for a bit higher as that suits my juice well, got 2.3. Taking it gently but I have to say it's saved my protanks from near redundancy! It's showing it's not bad at all. Biggest surprise is that the airy draw of the protank no longer annoys, no idea why that would be, but maybe it's just a more satisfying experience over all. This is easier than regular eko, or at least I found it so. I rolled the mesh (an off cut from trimming my RSST wick) tight enough round an ordinary household dress makers type pin, and that seems about right! It's a good vape at 8 watts on my vamo. Nice!

Naming no names, but you know who you are Mr Sucralose. You know Super-Shiny you did not even have to comment, I knew exactly who she was having a minor pop at right away! I feel fortunate to be able to walk a line right in between both tastes here. Slightly better than sitting on the fence though as all that brings is a behind full of splinters!

Well, now for an update: It's nearly a month on from this, and I have made and demolished my first 30ml bulk batch and made another, it seems like Monday is mix day for me now, it's happily fitting into the household routine! I made a fairly big batch of Ancient Holborn and seem to have gone off the stuff before I even tried it, I got loads of it kicking about here too! I got the recipe about spot on too, nothing like Old Holborn of course, but it's a very acceptable taste to an ex OH user! I'm getting my kicks mostly from my caramel mix, which is PA all the way at 15% for the current one and will go back to 10% again next time. ( Perpetua your buds are certainly shot, and mine are not much better!) I reckon the sweetener could stand knocking back a bit though as I have been making in equal parts caramel and sweetener, and it's just about ok, but not as good as it will be when it's a tad less sweet. Maybe 12.5%/7.5% caramel/sweetener next time. Got a small bottle of PA maple and so far that's proving a bit aggressive, will have to let it steep a bit more I think! It's funny but at first I wanted to rush into the thing and could never wait too long before trying a little, and only now am I learning that waiting is well worth doing, and I happily got over to dripping with an IGO-L, which is possibly the most solid purchase I have made to date (although inbound vape mail today might just trump it) I've now got a 100% mech mod too and that has been interesting, but have also discovered that bottom firing mods are not for me and my poor old hands, they are in terrible shape now thanks to my recent magneto purchase! Don't get me wrong it's a seriously nice bit of kit, but my hands are already in poor shape, and this makes them a lot worse, very painful in fact. Oh well, an interesting lesson learned there I suppose. Anyway, so glad I got into mixing my own! If you are wondering about trying it still, then all I can say is read up very carefully and then go for it. Take your time and it can come right sooner than you'd maybe imagine.

1, don't know how to do screenshot Chrissie, 2, it won't let me log on to support? Not on any other pro boards either. Going bed now. It's something I'm not very au fait with either Blue . . . there are several ways I think, this is one: www.take-a-screenshot.org/Whether there's a more straightforward method maybe? If you are a chrome user then go to the web store and type "screen capture by google" a few entries down there is just the extension you need. It's free, and it is mostly fine, although just sometimes it's a bit stumped about what to do next, which is a bit like Google in all truth. Make sure it is the one by google though, otherwise all bets are off as to how it works or does not. Hope it helps chrome users, other browser users can adjust what I said accordingly and enjoy the support from the maker of their browsers.

Hi Folks, I have one ceramic drip tip and now the place I got them from seems to be no longer selling them regrettably. Anyone know where they keep them in stock these days? Colour choices would be nice too if possible!

Well yes, however now, after some more thought, and some more learning, I have realised that nothing solves it quite as well as moving on to a device which simply does better in the first place! Sad but true fact of life! It was an interesting step along the pathway! Felt quite good for a bit too!

Just another option of an airflow controller.. I bought one of these from Liberty Flights when I had Protanks and it made a massive difference! On my ego batteries I found the draw to be just about right, but on my Evic it was WAY too loose... airflow controller sorted this out perfectly!! Well worth £2.79! Yes, agreed, I went there too, then realised there must be voltage drop across such a device. In the end I've concluded that protanks are something a lot of us do and then, mercifully, grow out of! LOL

I hope they all have a good time myself. I may be housebound, but I am looking forward to lots of good and even better videos on you tube this year (please). I'll be there in spirit, feel a bit miffed about the freebies because we all love them of course, but you know, I can't lie about it, it's nicest of all when you get one! Have one, or even several more, for me all of you who can be there!

The nearer to the end pages you get, you can see quite plainly that the proposal might easily be thrown out of court in the UK as it's is not overly compatible or harmonious from an intentions and aims standpoint. It roundly and rightly ridicules it in some areas. Hold that sort of thing up during electioneering and who ever supports it is going to end up with egg on their face if voters know about things like this, hence making certain it's common knowledge in the way that I have already outlined earlier. Voters by and large are in possession of common sense. Let them loose with some facts in the nick of time and who knows where it could lead. I can imagine it working out, I bet I'd not be alone in that thought either. Exposure of the facts is key to progress with all this. Just needs putting in the public domain in good time really. If each of us got just one other to switch to vape and they in turn did the same, then it would not take long at all.

Pages 9/10/11/12 show some rich soil for digging about in, it keeps getting better as it moves along too. To understand you need to read it all sadly, but it's worth understanding what you are up against if you are to overcome it I find.
