Anecdotal, but interesting to me: in the 14 months since I started vaping, for the first time ever in my adult life, I haven't had a cold.
Until I see some compelling evidence to the contrary, I'm attributing this to a steady diet of PG inhalation. So there.

I'm not making this up:
1. C.P.E. Bach: Concerto for violoncello, strings and basso continuo in Am III. Allegro assai (2001) - Akademie für Alte Music Berlin, Raphael Alpermann, Peter Bruns, C.P.E. Bach - Symphonies & Concertos 2. China Pig (1969) - Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band, Grow Fins: Rarities, 1965-1982 3. Music Always (1959) - Ornette Coleman, Beauty Is A Rare Thing: The Complete Atlantic Recordings 4. La Rupture Chez Prokoch (1963) - Georges Delerue, Bandes Originales Des Films De Jean-Luc Godard 5. Haydn: Symphony No.35 in Bb, Hob. I-35 - III. Menuet. Un poco Allegretto (1989) - The English Concert, Trevor Pinnock, The "Sturm und Drang" Symphonies 6. Bowlegged Irishman (1930) - Ted Gossett's String Band, Wish I Had My Time Again 7. Now They Call It Swing (1938) - Billie Holiday & her Orchestra, Lady Day - The Complete Billie Holiday on Columbia, 1933-1944 8. Nuthatch (2007) - Nuthatch, RSPB British Birdsong, Volume 4 9. In the Checkout Line (1981) - Jonathan Richman, The Lost Album 10. Watch This Sound (For What It's Worth) (c.1968) - Slim Smith, The Light
Hmmm. Nothing pop, nothing recent, nothing British (apart from the nuthatch)...

Probably doesn't need any more steeping. A good shake and mix will suffice. You don't mention how much you're increasing the nic level, but it might be worth trying it out as it is? If you're only taking it up to say 16mg or 18mg, you may find the 14mg is adequate.

The buttons on a Vamo V2 are simply lumps of metal which rest against the buttons on the board itself (I'd expect later versions to be similar).
Even if the buttons on the board pack up, I would think that remote switches could be wired in, and the board could still used in a mod project - but I haven't examined the Vamo board closely yet, despite having it disassembled several times now.
I recently gave my V2 a head transplant, replacing the worn out top cap with a V5. It was quite a struggle to get the V5 top cap into place, and getting it off again may be more difficult still, so I hope my amateurish soldering holds for a while.

yep, sounds good to me. Hopefully I can make it up there before then, too. I've inadvertently accumulated a third Nem clone (a steel one, part of a scandalously cheap job lot of vaping gear), which is the one I'm thinking of giving the treatment. There's also a Launcher on its way to me, which may look better in gun-metal blue...

From what I've learned (from forum discussions mostly), colouring in an oven will be more even, but it's tricky to get the exact colour you're looking for. Once the colour begins to change, the metal goes through the colours quite quickly - and since each lump of metal has a different mass, a test run with a chunk of steel isn't going to give any precise indication of the heating time.
I've been thinking of doing this, too, and I'm thinking of spinning the tubes on a drill chuck while torching, so that the results will be consistent at least in one axis!

I've had one of these for about 10 days now, and it's absolutely amazing for the price. I've built dual nanocoils and cotton, 0.85ohm or thereabouts, and it's caused me to start mixing at a lower nic strength and lower flavouring percentage. The only negative for me is that there's a tendency for juice to slosh out of the airholes - so, not really a device for out and about.

The sensible thing to do would be to ask on forums who has a bottle of the stuff lying around. I would expect almost every bottle ever sold is sitting, almost entirely untouched, in a drawer, somewhere, and the owners would be very glad to be rid of it. Maybe it improves with age, people could be sitting on the best flavour ever Yeah, who doesn't love the great taste of old crab?? If I was to draw up a list of flavours most likely to improve with age, I expect crab would be pretty near the bottom.

Unprotected, flat tops from Torchy will be just fine, and Nems can be kicked with any size of battery.
Protected batteries may be too fat, having an extra layer of heatshrink around them, but I don't know that they'd be too fat for the Nemesis, specifically - but with a kick, protected batteries would be unnecessary, anyway.

I'm in. I'll also be attempting to entice a few folks along from A.N. Other Forum. ( Raffles, there is indeed another Coach & Horses in Soho. The one with the rudest landlord is down by Cambridge Circus, and wouldn't have room for a vape meet, even if they wanted one. Brilliant place though; it used to be the favourite drinking establishment of the great Jeffrey Bernard. A few years back I spent a most entertaining evening in there with Eddie Tudorpole...)

"Update the beta" elevates my eyebrows a little.
Firefox auto-updates, these days, and apart from a brief pause to check the compatibility of your plug-ins, the process is just about seamless and invisible. Can you check your version number, under "About Firefox" in the menu? Mine currently says 27.0.1. If yours says something different, especially if "beta" is mentioned, you maybe want to try re-installing the browser afresh.
Something I've noticed is that the longer I leave a Facebook tab open, the slower the Mac runs. Closing the Facebook tab and restarting the browser recovers enormous amounts of memory which FB has hogged to itself, and everything is fine again.

Hey bubbleglass - I just peered at the Vamo options on FT, and the only V4 they appear to have is a chromed brass body. If you're going for a Vamo, I would definitely recommend getting a steel one - the most common point of failure with Vamos is the threads in the connector, and while the steel body ones aren't top notch, they're definitely longer lasting than the chromed brass ones. So either a V2, a V5, or if you're one of those strange people who like the V3 ribbing, then that, but steel. Vamos use 18650 or 18350 batteries, for which you will need a good charger. The Nitecore i2 or i4 chargers are a good price from FT, my i4 has worked perfectly - but I wouldn't advise buying your batteries from there - they have some real rubbish batteries, and there's also potential shipping problems. Track down Torchy the Battery Boy, either on UKV or on ebay, good prices and he knows batteries inside out.
