Queensland hates Vaping big time - they have even gone as far as setting up a dedicated snitch phone line To report the sale or possession of electronic cigarettes containing liquid nicotine, call 13 QGOV (13 74 68)

Whats it like with thick vg juices? Even with the smaller tip exit hole it has an excellent flow rate This is down to the internal shape of the spike verse straight steel tipped bottles. Edit = Added an image to show how much smaller the tip exit hole is compared to the standard metal

I'm hoping by the time I've used my 1.5 litre 72mg stash, there'll be a workaround of some sort I am sure there already are but sadly they do not involve any benefits for UK (or EU) retailers. As you say after TPD the risks for UK / EU retailers will be far higher than the benefits Risk to a retailer Have in mind when many come back to restock on nicotine base in 5-10 years the TAX position on nicotine containing liquids might be very different The chances are the "work around "will involve some sort of risk in the same way as importing cigarettes or tobacco.

but needing to order 20 bottles of nic at a time is just ridiculous. Isn't it just . . . . and will they all be recycled/reused or just contribute to environmental issues. There's no logic, when supermarkets are legally required to charge for plastic carrier bags to encourage shoppers not to use them. Don't forget 10ml bottles are a choking hazard

Ah yes, the spikey thing I bought dozens of the buggas back in the day, I checked my spares box and I have two left Looking forward to the re-stocking and the unicorn bottle option As the Unicorn bottle version requires cap disassembling in order to get the finished result it will be a limited edition until i get up to speed.

Nice - and thorough - review lemental Kev at Cig-elquid @cg-eliquid was the 1st place i tried DIY supplies (and one of the first Nic 'specialists' in the UK - around 5 years ago He was also the origiantor of the much acclaimed 'Spikey Thing' - the best filling device at the time - and had a very popular thread on UKV - think paulymeatballs was a fan too LoL Glad to here they're keeping on top of their game The spikey thing was awesome As I now have some time on my hands -and my hands work better now I will be Reintroducing the "Spiky Thing" in around a weeks time along with a version for the Unicorn bottle For newcomers - anyone who joined the forum after mid 2012 Here is a description of the spiky thing along with some images - at the bottom of the page The Spiky Thing The original e-liquid plastic needle tipped dropper bottle is back - still UK made This handy user friendly device is ideal for refilling every type of vapeing device It has a strong yet flexible medical grade plastic tip that wont scratch or damage your dripper tank yet can also reach places others cant. History Originally developed in 2010 as an alternative to carrying syringes and metal needles in order to refill cartos and cigalikes In mid 2012 the Spiky Thing was put on hold due to the emergence of the cheaper metal needle tip dropper bottle and the move to easy fill CE4s. However Due to popular demand it is back The Spiky Thing is Ideal for dripping , tank refilling ,coil priming instructions on filling Spiky thing Unscrew and remove bottle cap complete with the spike Remove bottle dropper tip and fill bottle - Replace dropper insert then replace lid with spike- it is vital that the dropper insert is used or you can just replace existing cap with the spiky cap providing your bottle is the same screw thread Removing excess e-liquid from your dripper with Spiky Thing Hold spiky thing upright grip bottle to squeeze out some air dip the tip of spike in liquid and release grip on bottle the Spiky Thing will then suck up liquid
It can also be used as a small volume pipette as the tip has graduation marks
Adjusting liquid flow
The size of the Spiky Thing tip hole can be increased by trimming a small amount from the tip Performance The size of the tip hole in the Spiky thing is far smaller than the metal tipped dripper bottles in-fact the Spiky Thing tip will fit down the centre of the the tub used on metal tipped dripper bottles in head to head tests against metal tipped dripper bottles even with the smaller hole the flow rate of the “Spiky thing” using high VG mix is better due to the internal shape of the tip
Replacement tips Over time the medical grade tips can be damaged / kinked
Packs of 10 replacement Spiky Thing tips are also available on the drop down
It is vital to Ensure that the original bottle dropper tip is in place without it the Spiky Thing will turn into a leaky thing
The bottle cap must not be over tightened as cramming it down can result in a failed seal between dropper insert and cap
Other usages for Spiky filler include but are not limited to your imagination

Considering that all the Chinese dealers I use, write the packages up as toys, spares, samples etc. and never priced at over $20, it will be a nightmare for HMRC to check everything coming through Heathrow unless they take on hundreds of extra staff. I can't see the Government spending extra on staff given their desperation to make cuts, so I think it will be business as usual. I could of course be wrong but I think you are probably right. Or at least I hope so. At this moment in time the Chinese are given a free pass on both customs and postage For example it is possible to buy an item from china and have it delivered to your UK address By the royal mail for a total 99p ( item+ packing and postage) Yet if you wished to then post the package on to another UK address it would cost you £2.85 second class and if you wished to return it to China it would be a min of £4.20 At some point in time things are going to change and China will be the " Bad boys" once again -

After May 2017 you will be able to purchase 10ml bottles of 20mg Now, there's a thought. Unless the prices go totally mad, a 10ml bottle of 20mg ( x 2 or 3 ) unflavoured would also go a long way for the 3mg DIYer. Helpful idea! Chances are that prices won't go to mad ,not to start with My bet is the UK tax man will announces ( after the option to stock up is off the table) That the other nasty members of the EU have forced him to tax nicotine containing e-liquids in line with other tobacco products -- Ref: Nicotine containing liquids are now covered by the TPD

With the TPD coming up fast I am a bit late to the stocking up party. However I have had a point-blank ban on freezing nic in the family freezer. Does anyone know how long nic will last unfrozen. I am now down to 2 or 3 mg so use very little - around 4ml per 100ml @72mg so I don't need much. Nick You have one year left (May 2017 )as the TPD fully kicks in/end of the sell off period for all products and nicotine e-liquids that can't gain TPD approval. After May 2017 you will be able to purchase 10ml bottles of 20mg How long will nicotine base keep if not kept in the fridge or freezer depends on how you store it and how fussy you are regarding the taste! if you don't mind a peppery background taste slowly creeping into your 2-3mg mix then it should be fine for years and years. Disclaimer: My definition of "fine for years and years" might be different from any person who has never rummaged though an ashtray looking for a dog end to spark up at 4 am back in the good old days before i discovered vapeing.

You/ the public will be able to openly purchase nicotine base up till the end of the sell off period - May 2017 After May 2017 you will still be able to purchase unflavoured nicotine base but the TPD will restricted all sales to the public of "nicotine containing liquids" to bottles no larger than 10ml and no stronger than 20mg*
*chances are it will be 18mg

To be economic for most shops/web shops 1x 10ml bottle of unflavoured 20mg(18mg to be on the safe side) will need to be around £1.00-1.25 each if sold separately. However they will likely be offered in multi packs this might bring the price down to around 80p each providing you buy 40 at a time 40x £0.80 = £32.00 ( most of the extra costs are due to 39 extra bottles,39 extra labels, time and packing +ongoing TPD reporting and paperwork) Maths The Nicotine content in the 40 x 10ml bottles of 18mg works out to be the same as the nicotine content of 1x 100ml of 72mg or put it another way 400 x 10ml bottles of 18ml (equivalent to 1lt of 72mg) is likely cost £320. But this is likely to be far more in a few years time due to taxation Reasoning if a TAX is put on nicotine containing e-liquids it is most unlikely it will be a flat TAX per bottle- as many would rightly call for lower strength e-liquids to have lower TAXs if not a large number would move up to stronger mg e-liquids in order to save money ( stronger the e-liquid the less you tend to use) if for example a very low TAX of 0.01p per mg was ever placed on nicotine containing liquids in the UK then a 10ml bottle of 4mg would have £0.40 of tax However the same size bottle of 18mg would have £1.80 TAX Once you start adding possible future Taxation into the mix then the costs soon start to stack up even at 1p per mg 40x10ml 18mg would cost around £104.00 and 400x 10ml 18mg ( equivalent nicotine content of 1x 1lt 72mg) would work out around £1040 Disclaimer These figures are base on pure guesswork and as such i might be talking total bolloks These figures are based on the UK TAXing e-liquids at a far lower rate than cigarettes or any other EU member state if we in the UK are required to fall in line with other EU member states the the costs will shoot up far more.
